LORD 7555 adhesive/sealant is an equal-mix, two-component bright white urethane adhesive/sealant system used to bond and seal a variety of plastics and prepared metals. After opening, protect adhesive/sealant from excessive exposure to moisture by replacing protective cap on the cartridge.
Features: full-bodied urethane formula holds bead pattern on horizontal surfaces, allowing for greater processing flexibility; non-slumping. LORD 7555-A/7555-C adhesive/sealant develops handling strength within 60 minutes, ideal for smaller bonding and sealing applications. offers immediate paint time, improving throughput. LORD 7555-A/7555-E adhesive/sealant offers longer working time, allowing for use on larger projects where more time is required. does not require explosion-proof equipment. no VOC content; does not contain ozone depleting chemicals. resists sunlight, weathering, humidity and salt spray; bright white color will not yellow. solvent resistant when cured. Painting and most cleaning processes do not affect bond strength.
Product Name
LORD 7555 A/C & 7555 A/E Ratio 1:1 White Non-Sag Gel Urethane Adhesives
Brief Description
LORD 7555 A/C and 7555 A/E are two-component, equal-mix, bright white urethane adhesive/sealant systems designed for robust bonding and sealing of a variety of plastics and prepared metals. The 7555 A/C version offers a fast cure for smaller applications, while the 7555 A/E provides an extended work time suitable for larger projects.
Popular Applications & Uses

- Automotive Service/Repair- Construction/Building Services- General Manufacturing- Aerospace/Defense- Cabinet & Woodworking- Cladding- Countertop- Transportation/Specialty Vehicle- Plastic Fabrication- Metal Fabrication- LED/Electronics
Special and Unique Features
- **Non-Sag and Non-Slump:** Full-bodied urethane formula maintains bead pattern on horizontal surfaces, offering greater processing flexibility.- **Fast Cure (7555 A/C):** Develops handling strength within 60 minutes, ideal for smaller bonding and sealing tasks.- **Extended Work Time (7555 A/E):** Offers a longer working time, suitable for larger projects requiring more assembly time.- **Immediate Paintability:** Allows for immediate painting, improving throughput.- **Non-Flammable:** Does not require explosion-proof equipment.- **Environmentally Recommended:** Contains no VOC content and does not contain ozone depleting chemicals.- **Environmentally/UV Resistant:** Resists sunlight, weathering, humidity, and salt spray; the bright white color will not yellow.- **Chemically Resistant:** Solvent resistant when cured, ensuring bond strength is not affected by painting and most cleaning processes.
Key Properties
- **Appearance:** White Paste (7555A/E mixed), Translucent Paste (7555A Resin), White Paste (7555C/E Curative).- **Mix Ratio:** 1:1 by volume.- **Work Time:** 60 minutes (7555A/C), 45 minutes (7555A/E).- **Time to Handling Strength:** Within 60 minutes (7555A/C), 5-6 hours (7555A/E).- **Full Cure:** 24 hours at 77°F (25°C) or 45 minutes at 140°F (60°C) for 7555A/C; 48 hours at 77°F (25°C) or 45 minutes at 140°F (60°C) for 7555A/E.- **Elongation:** 166% (7555A/E).- **Viscosity (at 77°F/25°C):** 40,000-160,000 cP (7555A Resin), 130,000-230,000 cP (7555C/E Curative).- **Density:** 9.64-10.04 lb/gal (7555A Resin), 9.95-10.25 lb/gal (7555C/E Curative).
Surface Compatibility
- A variety of plastics, including Lexan®, ABS, and polycarbonate.- Prepared metals.- Surfaces should be clean and free of grease, dirt, and other contaminants.- For metals, grit blasting and solvent washing, followed by priming, may be required for optimal bond performance.
Known backups / known substitutes
- Other LORD two-component urethane adhesives such as LORD 7550, LORD 7556, LORD 7800, LORD 7542, and LORD 7545.- General categories of adhesives like 3M Scotch-Weld, Loctite, epoxies, structural acrylics (MMA), cyanoacrylates, and other polyurethane adhesives.- Huntsman Structural Adhesives (epoxies, polyurethanes, methacrylates) are also high-performance alternatives.
Comparison Note
LORD 7555 A/C is formulated for applications requiring a faster cure and handling strength within 60 minutes, making it suitable for smaller bonding and sealing tasks. In contrast, LORD 7555 A/E provides an extended work time of 45 minutes, allowing for greater flexibility and use on larger projects. Both versions share key benefits such as non-sag properties, immediate paintability, non-flammability, and excellent environmental and chemical resistance, including UV stability and no yellowing.
