3M ScotchWeld DP2216 (duo-pak cartridges) & 2216 (pails) B/A Gray High Performance Flexible Cryogenic Cold-Resistant Shock-Resistant Gray 90 Minute Setting Epoxy Adhesive is a multipurpose, two-component, room temperature curing Epoxy adhesive of excellent strength, cryogenic-level cold-resistance, vibration-resistance, and shock-resistance. It is an excellent bonder for steel (ferrous and stainless), aluminum, many types of plastics, rubbers, woods, stone, concrete, masonry, and ceramics. Works in a mix ratio of 2:3, and delivers exceptional performance with a shear strength of 3200 psi and peel strength of 25 piw.
Scotch-Weld epoxy adhesive DP2216 (duo-pak cartridges) & 2216 (pails) B/A Gray is identical to 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Aerospace Epoxy Adhesive EC-2216 B/A in chemical composition. The difference is that Scotch-Weld epoxy adhesive EC-2216 B/A Gray has been labeled, packaged, tested, and certified for aircraft and aerospace applications. The non-aerospace rated 2216 B/A may be used for aircraft and aerospace applications if proper Certificates of Test have been issued and material meets all aircraft manufacturer’s specification requirements.

Product Name
3M Scotch-Weld DP2216 & 2216 B-A Gray - High Performance Flexible Cold-Resistant Shock Resistant 90-Minute Set Epoxy
Brief Description
3M Scotch-Weld DP2216 & 2216 B-A Gray is a high-performance, two-component, room temperature curing industrial epoxy adhesive designed for applications requiring flexible, high-strength bonds. It offers exceptional resistance to extreme cold (cryogenic temperatures), shock, vibration, and flexing, making it ideal for challenging environments and bonding dissimilar materials.
Popular Applications & Uses
- Cryogenic bonding applications where bonded agents experience temperature extremes.- Potting applications, especially for parts subject to thermal cycling, such as solar panels or electronic components.- Bonding components in transportation and general aerospace where vibrations and movement are common.- Military bonding applications, including parts on movable transports.- Structural bonding of lightweight materials like aluminum and composites in automotive.- Repair and assembly of high-performance equipment in sporting goods (e.g., golf clubs, skis).- Bonding ceramic, most plastics, rubber, wood, and glass to metal.- Attaching various substrates to masonry and stone.- Sealing and coating applications.
Industries that Commonly Use It
- Aerospace/Defense- Automotive Service/Repair- Construction/ Building Services- Distributers & Resellers- Energy- General Manufacturing- Government & Military- LED/Electronics- Marine- Metal Fabrication- Plastic Fabrication- Transportation/ Specialty Vehicle
Special and Unique Features
- High performance and flexible bonds.- Exceptional resistance to extreme shock, vibration, and flexing.- Excellent for cryogenic bonding applications, withstanding temperatures down to -423°F (-252°C) without becoming brittle.- Maintains strong bonds under expansion, contraction, and limited movement, ideal for dissimilar surfaces with differing thermal expansion coefficients.- Good retention of strength after environmental aging.- Electrically insulating properties.- Meets DOD-A-82720 specification.
