Ultra-Thin Clear Protective Coating for Hard Surfaces
Maven Invisible Armor Hard Surface Defense is a spray-on, ultra-thin clear ceramic/quartz-based coating designed to protect hard surfaces from moisture, stains, scratches, scuffs, UV exposure, chemicals, mold, mildew, rust, corrosion, and everyday environmental damage. Once cured, it forms a hardened, hydrophobic barrier that helps water bead on the surface rather than penetrate, while maintaining a clear, low-profile finish.
This clear top-coat is ideal for protecting epoxy art and finishes, wood, concrete, tile, mosaics, stone, ceramics, brick, pavers, cured paints, powder-coated surfaces, common metals, hard plastics, countertops, flooring, decks, patios, architectural materials, and more.
What It Does
Maven Invisible Armor creates a long-lasting, non-sacrificial protective layer over the surface. It helps defend against:
-
Water damage and moisture intrusion
-
Scratches, scuffs, and impact damage
-
UV fading and UV-related damage
-
Mold and mildew growth
-
Rust, tarnishing, corrosion, oxidation, and salt spray
-
Chemical exposure from many common acids, bases, solvents, oils, fuels, cleaners, and household spills
-
Graffiti, gum, animal waste, bird waste, chlorides, deicers, and acid rain
-
Ice adhesion and environmental surface damage
The coating dries clear and is available in gloss or satin finish options. When first applied, the product may appear clear, slightly amber, or slightly rose depending on temperature and humidity, but it dries clear.
How It Works
Maven Invisible Armor uses a nano-scale ceramic/quartz-based coating system that chemically bonds to properly prepared hard surfaces. As it cures, it forms an ultra-thin, hardened, chemically inert, water-repelling barrier. This barrier helps seal the surface against moisture and contaminants while adding a durable protective shell that resists staining, scratching, scuffing, UV exposure, and chemical attack.
Unlike traditional coatings that can add noticeable film build or weight, Maven Invisible Armor is designed to provide nanoscale coverage with a clear, lightweight, low-maintenance finish.
Recommended Surfaces
Use on properly prepared:
-
Epoxy art, epoxy tabletops, epoxy countertops, and epoxy flooring
-
Finished, painted, or varnished wood
-
Tile, mosaics, clay, stone, brick, ceramics, and pavers
-
Stainless steel, carbon steel, galvanized steel, iron, aluminum, copper, brass, and bronze
-
Powder-coated, primed, painted, or cured coated surfaces
-
Hard plastics such as ABS and PVC
-
Concrete, concrete blocks, cinder blocks, walls, floors, and countertops
Note: Do not apply over silicone-based paints, silicone sealers, or silicone-contaminated surfaces. The coating does not adhere properly to silicone.
Coverage
Approximate theoretical coverage:
-
Metal: 640–800 sq. ft. per gallon
-
Concrete: 400–600 sq. ft. per gallon
Coverage varies depending on surface porosity, texture, and application method. Porous or unsealed concrete may require a primer/sealer before applying Maven Invisible Armor.
Application Instructions
-
Prepare the surface.
Surface must be clean, dry, structurally sound, and free of oil, grease, dust, dirt, rust, scale, silicone, waxes, and other contaminants. Mask off all areas that should not be coated. -
Test first.
Always test in an inconspicuous area before full application to confirm adhesion, appearance, and finish compatibility, especially on white paints, powder-coated surfaces, concrete, and previously coated materials. -
Shake or stir thoroughly.
No mixing is required, but the product must be vigorously shaken or stirred before use, even if it appears clear. Re-shake or re-stir every 15–20 minutes during application to keep nanoparticles suspended. -
Apply in proper conditions.
Apply when surface and air temperatures are between 45°F and 105°F. Relative humidity should be 90% or less, with no expected rain, dew, or moisture exposure for at least 5 hours after application. -
Spray application is recommended.
For best finish and coverage, apply by spray. Use a pump sprayer or HVLP sprayer as appropriate for the job. Keep the coating thin and even; do not allow puddling. -
Apply thin, even coats.
Typical wet film thickness is about 2–3 mils. For HVLP application, apply two thin coats wet-on-tack, top-to-bottom and then right-to-left, while maintaining a wet edge. -
Observe recoat window.
If a second coat is required, apply it within 10–15 minutes while the first coat is still tacky. Do not allow the first coat to dry longer than 15 minutes before recoating, or the second coat may not adhere properly. -
Allow proper cure time.
Typical dry and cure schedule under standard conditions:-
Touch dry: 2–3 hours
-
Dry through: 3–5 hours
-
Light foot traffic: minimum 8–12 hours
-
Moisture exposure: minimum 2 days
-
Full cure: 7 days
-
Care and Maintenance
Clean coated surfaces with water, a damp rag, mop, or mild cleaner. For commercial floors, use a floor machine in wash mode only with a mild cleaning agent. Do not wax. Avoid abrasive cleansers or abrasive scouring pads.
If a coated area becomes damaged, lightly abrade the affected area with 220-grit sandpaper, clean away dust, and reapply Maven Invisible Armor as a touch-up. Keep traffic off the repaired area for at least 8 hours and keep moisture away while it cures.
Storage
Store unopened containers on shelves or pallets in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Keep away from heat, freezing temperatures, moisture, sparks, flames, and other ignition sources. Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.
Recommended storage temperature: 50°F to 80°F.
Shelf life: 12–24 months in factory-delivered, unopened containers.
Do not store above 80°F. Do not apply heat, cut, drill, grind, or weld on or near the container.
Safety and Handling
Use only with adequate ventilation. Avoid breathing vapor or spray mist. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing. Wear appropriate protective gloves, protective clothing, and chemical safety goggles or splash protection. Respiratory protection and fresh-air ventilation may be required, especially during spray application or use in enclosed areas.
This product is a flammable coating solution. Keep away from heat, sparks, open flames, pilot lights, static discharge, and other ignition sources. No smoking during use.

About Invisible Armor
Invisible Armor is a Nano-Scale Ceramic Quartz-based clear coat that protects most types of hard surfaces by curing into a long-lasting hardened inert impervious barrier against all kinds of environmental and chemical risks.
Invisible Armor is an excellent Stain Resister, Impact Resister, Rust Resister, Oxidation Resister, UV Damage Resister, Corrosion Resister, Ice Resister. Its hydrophobic properties and hard impermeable thin surface coating layer provides both a hard protective shell and whisks moisture away from surfaces.
It forms a hardened impermeable hydrophobic layer that virtually eliminates rust, stains, patinas, and other types of oxidation and corrosion. And for Ice resistance, its hydrophobic properties reduce water's capillary effect, thus discouraging ice from building up.
Stop Stains, Scratches, Scuffs, Rust/Corrosion, UV Damage, Ice Buildup, Material degradation and disintegration without compromising structural load or integrity.

Important Notes on Satin & Matte finishes:
- For Satin & Matte finish products, you will receive inside the box/packaging a separate small baggie of white matting agent.
- This matting agent has been pre-measured for your container size.
- You will need to pour the matting agent powder into the Invisible Armor container and stir it in.
- This will then enable the Satin or Matte finish that you are needing.
- If you do not pour and stir in the matting agent, you will simply have the gloss finish.
- Also, you will need to re-stir the sealant every 15 to 30 minutes as you are using it (and before use if it has been in storage for a while). The Matting agent does not dissolve, it stays suspended in solution and will eventually fall out (and to the bottom of the container) and need re-stirring.

How to apply:
Pressure sprayers: Apply using standard high-volume low-pressure sprayer (HVLP… popular with paint spraying and airbrushing) or hand-pump pressure sprayers with a 1.0-1.3 spray tip and air pressure set at 25 to 30 psi. Spray test pattern on cardboard or paper to ensure a suitable 8 to 10 inch elongated spray pattern is achieved (approximately 1 ½ inch wide in the middle and fluid enough to cover but not puddle). Apply two thin coats, wet-on-tack, 2-3 WFT each, top to bottom, then right to left, keeping a wet edge. The second coat must be applied within 10-15 minutes while the first coat is still tacky for optimum results.
Standard Paint Rollers: Use a high density ultra-smooth foam roller or ¼ inch nap roller to apply the coating in an up and down then left to right pattern to ensure complete coverage of the surface. Avoid overworking coating. Apply coating thinly, 2.0 to 3.0 wet film thicknesses (WFT) and continue forward. Avoid down pressure on the roller for best results in finish appearance.
Brush Application: Use high-quality China bristle to apply Invisible Armor in a cross-pattern; up and down, then left and right as quickly as possible. Avoid overworking coating, as it dries quickly. Avoid down pressure on the brush for best results in finish appearance. Apply light strokes using the tip brush to smooth out coating if necessary. Desired wet film thickness (WFT) is approximately 2.0 to 2.5 mils.
Dip Application: Apply a blanket of nitrogen gas over Invisible Armor in the dip tank to prevent flashing of solvents and evaporation of product. Dip and agitate items (back and forth, up and down); remove to dry rack.
