Maven EA510-B is a fast-working, two-part black epoxy adhesive designed for high-speed bonding of metals, ceramics, and most plastics. The 1:1 formula cures at room temperature into a tough, semi-rigid material with strong impact resistance and dependable adhesion for industrial repair, assembly, and fabrication work.

EA510-B offers good resistance to water, salt spray, inorganic acids and bases, and most organic solvents. Its free-flowing viscosity allows the mixed epoxy to spread across mating surfaces and flow into small gaps. It can be dispensed from side-by-side cartridges, mixed by hand, or used with compatible meter-mix equipment.

Key Benefits

  • Fast 8-12 minute working time at 75°F (24°C)
  • Develops handling strength in approximately 60 minutes
  • Reaches full properties after a 24-hour room-temperature cure
  • Simple 1:1 mix ratio by volume
  • Tough, semi-rigid cured bond with more than 150 in-lb impact resistance
  • More than 2,300 psi lap-shear strength on aluminum
  • 6,500 psi tensile strength
  • Service-temperature range from -40°F to 266°F (-40°C to 130°C)
  • Resists water, salt spray, inorganic acids and bases, and most organic solvents
  • 0% VOC by weight

Recommended Applications and Materials

Maven EA510-B is intended for high-speed structural bonding and general industrial assembly. Recommended material groups include:

  • Metals: especially aluminum and other properly prepared metal surfaces
  • Ceramics: rigid ceramic parts and assemblies
  • Plastics: most compatible rigid plastics
  • Industrial assemblies: equipment repair, component bonding, fixtures, housings, and general fabrication

Adhesion can vary between alloys, coatings, and plastic formulations. Test the complete assembly under its expected operating conditions before full-scale production.

How to Use

  1. Prepare the surfaces: Make sure the bonding surfaces are properly positioned, clean, dry, and free from oil, grease, dust, and loose material.
  2. Condition the components: Bring both Part A and Part B to room temperature before mixing.
  3. Measure: Dispense equal amounts of Part A and Part B using the specified 1:1 mix ratio.
  4. Mix: Blend thoroughly for 30-60 seconds, scraping the sides and bottom of the mixing surface until the material is uniform.
  5. Apply promptly: Apply the mixed epoxy to the prepared surfaces and assemble the parts within the 8-12 minute working time.
  6. Limit application thickness: Do not pour the mixed material more than 1/2 inch thick. Excessive mass can generate high exothermic heat and may cause the epoxy to boil.
  7. Secure the assembly: Keep the parts properly aligned and undisturbed while the adhesive develops handling strength.
  8. Allow to cure: Parts can normally be moved after approximately 1 hour. Allow 24 hours at room temperature before shipping the assembly or expecting full properties.

Elevated temperatures can shorten handling time and accelerate final cure. Because EA510-B cures quickly, prepare the parts and application tools before mixing.

Chemical and Environmental Resistance

Once fully cured, EA510-B provides good resistance to water, salt spray, inorganic acids and bases, and most organic solvents. Actual performance depends on the bonded materials, surface preparation, bond-line thickness, chemical concentration, exposure time, and operating temperature. Validate the cured assembly under the conditions of the intended application.
