Create a strong, threaded mounting point without drilling, welding, or damaging the mounting surface. Chem-Set M1B38 bonding studs feature a 1/4-20 male threaded post attached to a wide 38mm round steel base.
The perforated base allows a compatible structural adhesive to flow through and around the mounting plate, helping distribute the load across a larger bonding area. The fastener can be adhesively bonded to the surface or embedded directly into a molded component during manufacturing.
Choose from four post lengths to match your installation requirements: 3/4 inch, 1 inch, 2 inches, or 3 inches.

Prepare the bonding surface according to the instructions for your selected adhesive. Apply a compatible structural adhesive to the base and position the fastener on the prepared surface. The adhesive should make full contact with the base and flow through its openings.
Allow the adhesive to cure completely before attaching hardware or applying a load. Adhesive selection, surface preparation, cure time, and required fastener quantity will depend on the substrate and application.

-
One Chem-Set M1B38 threaded bonding stud in the selected post length
Adhesive, nuts, washers, brackets, sink clips, and other mounting hardware are not included.
Chem-Set M1B38 bonding studs are a practical solution for creating secure threaded mounting points without drilling holes or welding hardware to the surface. They are especially useful in applications where drilling could weaken, crack, or permanently damage the material. The wide 38mm bonding base provides a large surface area for adhesive attachment, making these studs well suited for stone, metal, wood, plastic, fiberglass, and composite materials.
One of the most popular uses for these fasteners is installing undermount sinks beneath granite, quartz, solid-surface, and other countertop materials. The studs can be bonded to the underside of the countertop and used with compatible clips or brackets to support the sink. This installation method helps avoid drilling into expensive finished surfaces while still providing an adjustable threaded connection.
M1B38 bonding studs are also frequently used for mounting signs, equipment panels, access covers, brackets, cabinetry components, and decorative trim. Because the mounting hardware can remain hidden behind the attached component, they work well for applications where a clean, professional appearance is important.
In manufacturing and fabrication, these studs can be used to attach hardware to fiberglass panels, molded plastic parts, composite structures, and equipment enclosures. The different available post lengths make it easier to accommodate a variety of brackets, panel thicknesses, and mounting configurations.
