UltraLok 5460 White Structural Epoxy Adhesive – 2:1 High-Strength Bonding Epoxy

High-Strength Epoxy for Demanding Industrial Bonds

UltraLok 5460 White is a tough, two-part epoxy hybrid adhesive engineered for structural bonding, laminating, small potting applications, and general industrial assembly. Its high-strength, low-shrink formula creates durable bonds while providing excellent wetting across a wide variety of materials.

Designed for applications that require dependable mechanical strength, dimensional stability, and electrical insulation, UltraLok 5460 performs well on metals, fiberglass, ceramics, and many plastics. Once fully cured, it forms a rigid, off-white bond with excellent resistance to moisture, weathering, fuels, oils, solvents, mild acids, and alkalis. (Chemical Concepts Inc)

Key Features

  • High-strength structural epoxy adhesive

  • Bonds metals, fiberglass, ceramics, and many plastics

  • Excellent toughness and impact resistance

  • Low-shrink formula helps maintain bond-line stability

  • Wide service temperature range from -60°F to 302°F

  • Resistant to water, weather, fuels, oils, alcohols, and many solvents

  • Provides durable electrical insulation after curing

  • Long 40- to 60-minute working time for positioning and assembly

  • Convenient 2:1 mix ratio

  • Suitable for cartridges, manual mixing, and meter-mix equipment

  • Off-white cured appearance

  • 0% VOC by weight

Built for Strength and Long-Term Durability

UltraLok 5460 develops strong, rigid bonds capable of handling demanding industrial conditions. The cured adhesive provides a lap shear strength greater than 3,700 PSI on aluminum and a tensile strength of approximately 6,600 PSI.

Its impact resistance and Shore D hardness make it suitable for bonded assemblies that may experience vibration, mechanical stress, temperature changes, or regular handling. The adhesive also maintains excellent dimensional stability across a broad operating temperature range.

Chemical and Environmental Resistance

Once fully cured, UltraLok 5460 resists exposure to:

  • Water and weather

  • Ozone and oxygen

  • Gasoline and diesel fuel

  • Oils and alcohols

  • Various solvents

  • Mild acids and alkalis

  • Many other organic compounds

Because actual chemical exposure, temperature, and operating conditions vary, users should test the adhesive under their specific service conditions before full-scale use.

Popular Applications

UltraLok 5460 is well suited for:

  • Metal-to-metal structural bonding

  • Bonding fiberglass and composite components

  • Ceramic assembly and repair

  • Industrial equipment assembly

  • Electrical component potting

  • Small encapsulation projects

  • Laminating panels and components

  • Fixture and bracket bonding

  • Automotive and transportation components

  • Marine and outdoor assemblies

  • General manufacturing

  • Bonding similar or dissimilar materials

Electrical Insulation and Potting Performance

Fully cured UltraLok 5460 provides durable electrical insulation, making it a strong option for small potting and encapsulation applications. Its electrical properties include a dielectric strength of approximately 440 volts per mil and a volume resistivity of 8 × 10¹⁴ ohm-cm.

Mixing and Application Instructions

Bring both components to room temperature before use.

Mix 2 parts resin to 1 part activator by volume. For weight-based mixing, use approximately 213 grams of Part A for every 100 grams of Part B.

Mix thoroughly for 30 to 60 seconds, scraping the sides and bottom of the mixing container to produce a uniform blend. Apply the mixed adhesive to properly prepared surfaces and position the components before the working time expires.

For best results, surfaces should be clean, dry, and free from oil, dust, oxidation, and other contaminants.

Cure Schedule at 75°F

  • Working time: 40 to 60 minutes

  • Fixture time: 2 to 4 hours

  • Full cure: 24 to 48 hours

Parts can generally be moved after approximately four hours. Cure time will vary with bond thickness, material temperature, ambient conditions, and the size of the mixed batch. Moderate heat may be used to shorten fixture and final cure times when appropriate for the bonded materials.
