PERMABOND UV7141 is a UV-curable adhesive with a secondary anaerobic cure mechanism. It can be cured with either UV light or Anaerobic settings.
This makes it ideal for bonding materials such as ceramiccoated glass, mirrors etc. where UV-light cannot penetrate to provide full cure in shadow areas. This dual cure mechanism helps speed up production rates. The UV cure tacks the components in place in seconds, reducing the need for jigging. The bulk of the adhesive then cures more slowly to produce optimum performance.
Features & Benefits
- Cures in shadow areas or in UV light
- Makes for a flexible glue for a variety of repairs or assemblies.
- High shear strength
- Excellent environmental resistance
- 100% solids, no solvents
- Excellent adhesion to metal and glass

*The cure time depends on the power of the UV lamp, its spectral output, the distance between the lamp and the components, and the transmission characteristics of the substrates.
**LED UV lamps have a narrow range of spectral output. It is important to check suitability with Permabond in order to match the LED lamp’s peak wavelength with that of the adhesive’s photoinitiator to ensure optimal adhesive cure.
Product Name
PERMABOND UV7141, Dual-Curable Glue - UV or Anaerobic curable glue for bonding ceramics, glass, mirrors and metals
Brief Description
PERMABOND UV7141 is a high-performance, dual-curable adhesive that utilizes both UV light and a secondary anaerobic cure mechanism. This methacrylate ester-based, 100% solids, solvent-free, colorless liquid is engineered for bonding materials like ceramic-coated glass, mirrors, glass, and various metals. Its dual-cure capability ensures complete curing even in "shadow areas" where UV light cannot fully penetrate, making it ideal for complex assemblies and opaque substrates.
Popular Applications & Uses
- Bonding ceramic-coated glass, mirrors, and glass to metals.- Assembly of glass furniture and display cases.- Attaching metal hinges to mirrored doors, such as for bathroom cabinets.- Applications requiring rapid fixturing with UV light and a complete cure in shadowed or opaque areas.- General assembly where high strength and environmental resistance are critical.
Industries that Commonly Use It
- Artist, Artisan- Automotive Service/Repair- Cabinet & Woodworking- Construction/ Building Services- Distributers & Resellers- Electrical Services or Products- Fabrication- Furniture- General Manufacturing- Government & Military- Industrial Supply- LED/Electronics- Medical Device/ Prosthetics- Metal Fabrication- Military- Sign & Display- Transportation/ Specialty Vehicle
Special and Unique Features
- **Dual Cure Mechanism:** Cures rapidly with UV light for quick fixturing and then fully cures anaerobically in shadowed areas.- **Shadow Cure Capability:** Ensures complete bonding even when UV light cannot reach all parts of the adhesive joint.- **High Shear Strength:** Provides robust and durable bonds.- **Excellent Environmental Resistance:** Withstands various environmental factors, including moisture and temperature fluctuations.- **100% Solids, No Solvents:** Environmentally friendly with low VOC emissions.- **Colorless and Optically Clear:** Ideal for "invisible joints" and aesthetic applications.- **Fast UV Fixture Time:** Allows for immediate handling of components after UV exposure, reducing the need for jigging.

Comparison Note
PERMABOND UV7141 stands out due to its unique dual-cure mechanism (UV and anaerobic), which provides the speed of UV curing for initial fixturing and the reliability of an anaerobic cure for areas inaccessible to UV light. This overcomes a common limitation of single-cure UV adhesives, which require full light exposure. While other dual-cure adhesives exist (e.g., UV/heat or UV/moisture), UV7141's anaerobic secondary cure is particularly effective for bonding opaque materials like metals or ceramic-coated glass where oxygen is excluded from the bond line. It offers excellent adhesion to glass, ceramics, and metals, high shear strength, and environmental resistance, making it a versatile choice for demanding applications requiring both speed and comprehensive cure.
