Application Instructions
1. Surface Prep: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and grease-free. Use Isopropyl (rubbing alcohol) wipe if necessary.
2. Mixing & Dispensing: Use a static mixer to apply a thin, even bead of mixed adhesive.
3. Assembly & Clamping: Press parts firmly and maintain pressure until handling strength is achieved.
4. Curing Notes: Adhesive cures best inside joints (anaerobic). Adhesive exposed to air may remain tacky for an extended time (not a defect, just a characteristic, it will eventually lose it's tackness). Remove excess before curing.
Avoiding Common Issues
■ Leaving large beads ® sticky residue.
■ One side exposed to air → tacky, sticky surface. or crystalization or crystal-like curing
■ Not clamping long enough ® weak bond.
■ Stressing before full cure ® joint failure.
■ Always allow full cure before loading.
Troubleshooting
Still tacky? Exposed to air, not a bond failure, allow it to keep curing, can take a while to lose tackiness.
Crystalization? Exposed to air, not a bond failure, allow it to keep curing, can take a while to lose tackiness.
Slow to grab? Possibly TA4610 (longer cure) or surface contamination.
Joint failed? Likely due to early stress or insufficient clamping.
Product Name
Permabond TA4631 Polyolefin (PE, PP), Nylon & Rubber Bonder, Clear Color, Thin Viscosity 12-18 min Acrylic MMA Adhesive White
Brief Description
Permabond TA4631 is a two-part, 1:1 mix ratio, no-odor acrylic (MMA) adhesive specifically engineered for bonding low surface energy plastics such as polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE), including HDPE, without the need for primers or expensive surface treatments. It also effectively bonds nylon, rubber, metals, and composite materials, making it ideal for dissimilar surface bonding applications.
