Permabond MS359A is a low viscosity, self-levelling single-part MS Polymer. A moisture cure sealant’ type product which cures slowly from the outside in to form tough, yet flexible, bonded joints.
Grey in colour, MS359A can be used to bond most materials including wood, metal, glass, plasterboard wood, metal, glass, plasterboard and a wide range of plastics.
Permabond MS Polymers are single component, hybrid technology adhesives that moisture cure at ambient temperature. The high elongation and flexible nature of these strong bonds meet the demands of stress from impact, peel, and expansion that can occur when bonding dissimilar materials. They have excellent environmental resistance and remain very flexible.
As this formula is moisture cure, the cure time will depend on humidity and moisture in the air and on the substrate surface.

Product Name: Permabond MS359A Grey MS Polymer Medium Set 10 - 20 min (Thin Viscosity, Self Leveling)
Permabond MS359A is a single-part, moisture-curing MS polymer adhesive designed with a low viscosity, self-leveling consistency. Unlike traditional thick pastes, this "flowable" formula allows the adhesive to spread easily, fill cavities, and settle into a smooth, even layer without tooling. It cures to form a tough, permanently flexible bond that offers excellent resistance to weathering and environmental conditions.
Popular Applications & Uses
- Potting and encapsulating electronic components to protect against moisture and vibration.
- Coating surfaces to provide a protective, weather-resistant seal.
- Filling horizontal gaps and expansion joints where a self-smoothing finish is desired.
- Bonding large surface areas where a flowable adhesive ensures better coverage.
- General assembly of dissimilar materials in construction and industrial manufacturing.
Industries that Commonly Use It
- Construction and Building Maintenance
- Electronics and Electrical Assembly
- General Industrial Manufacturing
- Transportation and Specialty Vehicle
- Marine
Special and Unique Features
- Self-leveling, thin viscosity allows it to flow and fill voids without manual spreading.
- Adheres well to a wide variety of substrates without the need for primers.
- Free from solvents, isocyanates, and silicones, making it non-corrosive and safer to use.
- Remains flexible after curing, accommodating thermal expansion and movement.
- Can be painted over once cured, unlike silicone sealants.
Key Properties
- Base: MS Polymer (Modified Silane)
- Color: Grey
- Viscosity: 10,000 - 25,000 cP (Flowable / Self-Leveling)
- Hardness: Flexible (typically around 50-60 Shore A)
- Elongation: High
Materials Bonded

- Many Plastics (PVC, Polycarbonate, Polystyrene)
- Composites and Fabrics
- Note: Not recommended for low surface energy plastics like Polypropylene (PP) or Polyethylene (PE).
Cure Information
- Cure Mechanism: Moisture Cure (reacts with humidity in the air).
- Skin/Set Time: 10 - 20 minutes.
- Handling Strength: Approximately 1 - 2 hours.
- Full Cure: 24 hours (rate depends on humidity and bond line thickness).
Comparison Note
- The critical difference between Permabond MS359 and MS359A is viscosity. MS359 is a non-sag paste designed for vertical surfaces and gap filling where the adhesive needs to hold its shape. MS359A is a flowable, self-leveling liquid designed to spread out and coat horizontal surfaces. Both offer similar weather resistance and flexibility, so the choice depends entirely on whether you need the adhesive to flow (A) or stay put (Non-Sag).
