Permabond MH052 is ideal for the sealing of threaded joints. It is approved for use with natural gas and LPG for working pressure up to 20 bar (290 psi) and also for gaseous oxygen up to 10 bar (145 psi) and 60°C (140°F). MH052 seals against gas, water, LPG, hydrocarbons, oils and other chemicals and will seal to the burst rating of the pipe. Unlike PTFE tape or hemp, Permabond MH052 will not shred or dry out, so it will provide a durable seal, helping to extend the life of the components.

Permabond MH052 is an anaerobic thread sealant specifically formulated for sealing threaded joints. It cures in the absence of air and in contact with metal surfaces, creating a durable, vibration-proof seal. This product effectively prevents leaks of gas, water, LPG, hydrocarbons, oils, and various other chemicals. A key feature is its approval for use in gaseous oxygen systems.

Surface Compatibility
- Achieves best results on clean, dry, and grease-free metal surfaces- Tolerates a slight degree of surface contamination- Roughened surfaces (~25µm) generally yield higher bond strengths- Cures more quickly on active metal surfaces such as copper and its alloys- Exhibits slower cure on inactive or passivated surfaces like zinc, aluminum, and stainless steel; cure speed can be accelerated with Permabond A905 or ASC10 activator- Not recommended for use on plastic pipes- Not recommended for contact with steam, strong oxidizing materials, and very polar solvents
