| Nordson EFD medium length 5.6-Inch (25-Element) universal mixing nozzles / tips for all standard C-System (screw-on) 200ml, 400ml, 600ml and 1500ml 2-Part epoxy and adhesive cartridges in all ratios (1:1, 2:1, 4:1 and 10:1) This new OptiMixer design allows for thorough mixing in the shortest-length nozzles on the market, which leaves the least amount of wasted material across all other mixer styles, and allows users to get closer to the materials they are bonding. It has a screw-on inlet, meaning it screws directly onto the cartridge and requires no additional locking nut to secure it. And the outlet has a stepped-tip that can be cut to adjust the amount of adhesive being dispensed. Use these mixers with: Epoxy, Silicone, Urethane, Foam Urethane, Acrylic, Polyesters Works perfectly with the following Brands of larger (C-System) adhesive cartridges: Loctite EA , 3M Scotch Weld, Devcon, Plexus, Huntsman, Araldite, Lord, MG Chemicals, Permabond, Masterbond, and all other brands that use the following 200ml, 400ml, 600ml, 1500ml, and related cartridge types. Works with all standard C-System cartridges by Sulzer MixPac, and 2k cartridges by Nordson EFD. Each Pack includes the same number of mixing nozzles plus the related inner/inside mixing assembly |
Product Name
OptiMixer (Low-Waste) Screw-On 25-Element Mixing Nozzle for 200ml, 400ml, 600ml, 1500ml 2-Part cartridges
Brief Description
A high-performance, disposable static mixing nozzle engineered for the efficient and precise blending of two-component adhesives, sealants, and other reactive materials from various cartridge sizes. Its innovative low-waste design minimizes material retention and optimizes application accuracy.
Popular Applications & Uses
- Bonding and sealing components in automotive assembly.- Sealing and bonding materials in construction, such as concrete, masonry, and wood.- Bonding and sealing aircraft interiors, wings, and fuselages in aerospace applications.- General assembly and manufacturing processes requiring precise adhesive application.- Potting, encapsulating, and gasketing with two-part compounds.- Repair and DIY projects requiring dual-component adhesives.- Solar panel assembly and wind turbine blade repair.
Industries that Commonly Use It
- Aerospace/Defense- Automotive Service/Repair- Chemical Industry- Construction/Building Services- Distributers & Resellers- Energy- General Manufacturing- LED/Electronics- Marine- Prosumer
Special and Unique Features
- **Low-Waste Design:** Engineered for thorough mixing in a shorter length, significantly reducing retained material volume compared to other mixer styles, leading to material savings.- **Screw-On Inlet:** Attaches directly to the cartridge without the need for an additional retaining nut, ensuring a secure and leak-proof connection.- **25-Element Square/Turbo Mixer Design:** Provides superior mixing capabilities for a wide range of adhesive formulations, enhancing flow and consistency.- **Wide Cartridge Compatibility:** Designed to fit 200ml, 400ml, 600ml, and 1500ml 2-part cartridges, including u-TAH Universal and Side x Side cartridges.- **Stepped Outlet Tip:** Allows for controlled dispensing and can be cut to adjust the amount of adhesive being dispensed, ideal for intricate applications.
Key Properties
- **Efficient Mixing:** Achieves a homogeneous blend of two-component materials through its internal static mixing elements.- **Reduced Material Waste:** Minimizes retained volume, contributing to cost savings and environmental benefits.- **Consistent Mix Ratio:** Ensures reliable and repeatable results for optimal bond strength and product quality.- **Durable Construction:** Elements typically made from Acetal and housing from Polypropylene for long-lasting performance under demanding conditions.- **Ease of Use:** Simple screw-on attachment and disposable nature streamline application processes.
Surface Compatibility
The nozzle itself does not directly contact the bonding surface. Its compatibility refers to the types of materials the mixed adhesives, sealants, or resins are typically applied to. Commonly used with adhesives for bonding to various substrates such as metals, plastics, composites, wood, concrete, and masonry.
Known backups / known substitutes
- Other brands of static mixing nozzles (e.g., Sulzer Mixpac, TAH, Xemex, Infinity Bond).- Bayonet-style static mixers, which use a twist-and-lock connection, often for smaller cartridges.- Bell-connection static mixers, which require a retaining nut.- Static mixers with different numbers of mixing elements (e.g., 9, 33 elements) or different internal designs (helical).- Dynamic mixing nozzles (for very high-viscosity adhesives, though less common for cartridge applications).- Manual hand mixing (less precise, inconsistent, and introduces air).
Comparison Note
The OptiMixer stands out for its low-waste design and shorter length, which allows users to work closer to the application and significantly reduces material retention compared to many comparable square or helical static mixers. Its screw-on connection offers a secure fit without extra hardware, differentiating it from bell-connection mixers that typically require a separate retaining nut.
