Maven UV Glass PF is a specialized high-viscosity (2000 cps) UV-curable resin designed specifically as the finishing "Cap" for windshield repairs. After a rock chip (star or bullseye) has been injected with thin resin, Maven PF is applied to the surface impact point to fill the remaining void. Its 2000 cps viscosity is perfectly balanced: thick enough to create a domed "cap" that won't drip off the curvature of a windshield, yet self-leveling enough to settle into the pit for a smooth finish. It cures to an extremely hard, weather-sealed surface that prevents moisture and dirt from re-entering the break, ensuring the repair remains invisible and structurally sound.
Product Name
Maven UV Glass PF (Pit Filler) High Viscosity 2000 cps Resin
Brief Description
Maven UV Glass PF is the essential "second step" in professional windshield repair. While low-viscosity resins (like Maven LV) are designed to flow deep into internal cracks, Maven PF (Pit Filler) is a heavy-bodied, 2000 cps resin designed to sit on the surface. It fills the "impact pit"—the chunk of glass missing from the surface where the rock hit. It seals the injection hole, restores the smooth surface profile of the glass, and polishes to a high shine, making the entry point virtually disappear.
Popular Applications & Uses
- Windshield Pit Capping: Sealing the impact point of star and bullseye breaks after injection.
- Surface Chip Repair: Filling shallow divots or "shell" chips on glass surfaces that do not penetrate deep into the laminate.
- Sealant Layer: Creating a weather-tight barrier over complex cracks to prevent water intrusion.
- Decorative Glass Repair: Filling voids in tabletop glass or display cases where a clear, hard fill is needed.
Industries that Commonly Use It
- Automotive Service/Repair
- Transportation/ Specialty Vehicle
- Construction/ Building Services
- General Manufacturing
- Logistics
- Fabrication
- Retail, Retail Stores
Special and Unique Features
- Optimized 2000 cps Viscosity: Thick enough to stay in the pit without running, but thin enough to self-level for easier scraping/polishing.
- High Tensile Strength: Reinforces the surface glass to prevent the chip from reopening under wiper blade pressure.
- Moisture Barrier: Completely blocks water and dirt from entering the internal crack network.
- Polishability: Cures hard enough to be scraped flush with a razor and polished to match the surrounding glass clarity.
Key Properties
- Viscosity: 2,000 cps (Thick Syrup Consistency)
- Function: Pit & Void Filling (Surface Capping)
- Cure Mechanism: UV Light (365nm - 405nm)
- Appearance: Optically Clear
- Durability: Weather and chemical resistant (washer fluid safe)
Surface Compatibility
- Laminated Automotive Glass (Windshields)
- Tempered Glass (Surface pits)
- Plate Glass
- *Note: Applied over the top of cured Injection Resin.*
Known backups / known substitutes
- Maven UV Glass PG (3500 cps): A thicker version, better for vertical plate glass, but harder to flow into small pits.
- Maven UV Glass LV (Low Viscosity): NOT a substitute; LV is for inside the crack, PF is for the surface.
- Standard Pit Fill Resins: Most brands offer a "Pit Fill" viscosity in the 1500-2500 cps range.
Comparison Note
It is crucial to distinguish Maven PF (2000 cps) from Maven PG (3500 cps). While both are "thick" resins, Maven PF is tuned specifically for Automotive Windshields. Its 2000 cps thickness allows it to settle perfectly into small rock chips. The Maven PG (3500 cps) is significantly thicker (like stiff honey) and is better suited for Vertical Plate Glass repairs where gravity would cause the 2000 cps resin to droop. Use PF for cars; use PG for storefront windows.
