High Temperature resistant, Signlok 403 can endure Powder Coating process steps, it is UV & Corrosion Resistant, and works great for Outdoor Assemblies (assemblies exposed to the elements)
Packaging Options: 210ml (new cartridge design) - 3031524 And can get the cartridges or as a starter-kit with the cartridges included.
Replaces Welding and Mechanical Fasteners
403 is abfast-set formula, with a set time of 6-10 minutes and handling strength after just 12-17 minutes.
LORD Signlok 406 adhesive can be used to replace welding, brazing, riveting and other mechanical fastening methods. This adhesive system is formulated to provide some of the highest impact and peel strengths available in a room temperature curing adhesive.
Shelf Life
Shelf life of each component is 18 months when stored in a well ventilated area below 80°F (27°C) in original, unopened container. Storage temperatures of 40-50°F (4-10°C) are recommended. If stored cold, allow product to return to room temperature before using. Protect from exposure to direct sunlight. LORD Signlok 406 adhesive is flammable. Do not store or use near heat, sparks or open flame.
Features and Benefits
• Versatile – bonds a wide range of unprepared metals with minimal substrate preparation, as well as engineered thermoplastics including XENOY®, polycarbonate, ABS and acrylics.
• Temperature Resistant – performs at temperatures from -40 to +300°F (-40 to +149°C).
• Environmentally Resistant – resists dilute acids, alkalis, solvents, greases, oils, moisture, salt spray and weathering; provides excellent resistance to UV exposure.
• UL Rated – UL 879 certified.
• Non-Sag – remains in position when applied on vertical or overhead surfaces, allowing for greater process flexibility.
• Precise Bondline – allows precise control of the adhesive bondline thickness due to its content of glass beads.

Special and Unique Features
- Fast setting with a 6-10 minute work time and 12-17 minute handling strength.- Non-sag formula, ideal for vertical or overhead applications, providing greater process flexibility.- Wide temperature resistance, performing effectively from -40°F to +300°F (-40°C to +149°C).- Excellent environmental resistance to dilute acids, alkalis, solvents, greases, oils, moisture, salt spray, weathering, and indirect UV exposure.- UL Recognized (UL 746C / UL 879 certified).- Contains glass beads for precise control of adhesive bondline thickness.- Delivers some of the highest impact and peel strengths available in a room temperature curing adhesive.- Capable of bonding a wide range of unprepared metals with minimal surface preparation.- Effectively bonds dissimilar materials, offering design freedom.
Key Properties
- Adhesive Type: Two-component Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) / Structural Acrylic Adhesive- Mix Ratio: 2:1 (adhesive to accelerator by volume)- Work Time: 6-10 minutes- Handling Strength: 12-17 minutes- Full Cure Time: 24 hours at room temperature (can be accelerated with modest heat <150°F / <66°C)- Operating Temperature Range: -40°F to +300°F (-40°C to +149°C)- Appearance: Tan Paste (Part A), Off-white Paste (Part B)- Density (Part A): 9.25 - 9.55 lb/gal (1108 - 1144 kg/m3)- Density (Part B): 12.15 - 13.2 lb/gal (1456 - 1581 kg/m3)- Flash Point (Part A): 59°F (15°C)- Flash Point (Part B): ≥200°F (≥93°C)- Shelf Life: 18 months when stored below 80°F (27°C), with 40-50°F (4-10°C) recommended.
Surface Compatibility
- Prepared or unprepared metals, including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.- Engineered thermoplastics such as XENOY®, polycarbonate, ABS, and acrylics.- Various composite materials, including fiberglass, carbon fiber, unsaturated polyester, vinyl ester, gel-coat, sheet molding compound, and epoxy.- Other substrates like glass, wood, and magnets.- Tolerant of normal amounts of mill oils and drawing compounds on metal surfaces.- Most plastics require simple cleaning; some may benefit from abrading for optimal performance.
Known backups / known substitutes
- Other LORD Signlok series adhesives, such as LORD Signlok 403, LORD Signlok 810, and LORD Signlok 7550.- LORD 406/19, which is an industrial version of the adhesive.- Other LORD acrylic adhesives like LORD Maxlok MX/T3, MX/T6, and MX/T18.- SikaFast products, which are general MMA adhesive alternatives.- Other Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) adhesives from manufacturers such as H.B. Fuller, Permabond, Forgeway, and Maven.- Epoxy adhesives, though MMAs typically offer superior peel strength, temperature resistance, and faster cure speeds.
Comparison Note
LORD Signlok 406, as an MMA adhesive, provides significant advantages over traditional mechanical fastening methods like welding, brazing, riveting, screws, and bolts. These benefits include high bond strength, faster production cycles, the ability to bond dissimilar materials, and potential reductions in labor and material costs. When compared to epoxy adhesives, MMAs generally exhibit higher peel strength, better temperature resistance, and more rapid strength development, although they may have a more pronounced odor and are flammable. Within the LORD Signlok 400 series, the 406 is considered an intermediate option in terms of speed, with the 403 being faster and the 410 being slower.
