LOCTITE Epoxy Marine is a resilient two-part repair adhesive designed for high-strength bonds on wet surfaces and projects exposed to water immersion. The dual syringe dispenses resin and hardener in equal volumes for a 1:1 mix, producing a tough, rigid, off-white bond that can be applied and cured underwater.
Key benefits
- Applies and cures underwater—no need to drain the repair area
- Sets in approximately 2 hours and reaches full cure in 24 hours
- Waterproof, non-shrinking, impact resistant, and resistant to most common solvents
- Cured material can be sanded or machined
- Convenient 25 mL dual syringe dispenses equal amounts of both components
Common applications
Ideal for repairing PVC, copper, brass, aluminum, and galvanized pipes, as well as bonding metal, concrete, glass, fiberglass, ceramic, wood, and certain rigid plastics. Suitable for marine, plumbing, home-repair, and maintenance projects where the bonded area may be wet or immersed.
Technical specifications
- Package: 25 mL (0.85 fl oz) carded dual syringe
- Mix ratio: 1:1 by volume
- Cured color: Off-white
- Application temperature: 39°F to 95°F (4°C to 35°C)
- Gel/set time: Approximately 120–150 minutes
- Usable strength: Approximately 3 hours
- Full cure: 24 hours
- Tensile shear strength: 3,000 psi typical on cold-rolled steel after 24 hours
- Service temperature: -10°F to 120°F (-23°C to 49°C) long term; up to 302°F (150°C) for short exposure
- Shelf life: 24 months unopened when stored as directed
- Henkel IDH: 1919324
Directions
- Clean the bonding surfaces. For best results, remove oil, grease, loose material, and corrosion where practical.
- Dispense equal amounts of resin and hardener onto a disposable surface.
- Mix thoroughly for approximately one minute, then apply to both surfaces.
- Join the parts and support them while the adhesive sets. Allow 24 hours for full cure.
Limitations and safety
Not recommended for polyethylene, polypropylene, nylon, non-stick surfaces, or flexible materials. Do not use in aquariums or potable-water systems. Cured material is not paintable. Resin and hardener can cause serious skin and eye effects; use appropriate gloves and eye protection, provide ventilation, and review both current Safety Data Sheets before use.
