Product Name
Jensen NT Precision Dispensing Tips (Push-On & Luer-Lock) Family - Steel 1/2-Inch Yellow 32-Gauge
Brief Description
The Jensen NT Precision Dispensing Tips are industrial-grade consumables featuring a stainless steel cannula and a Luer-Lock/push-on hub. These tips are engineered for accurate and controlled application of various low to medium viscosity fluids in precision manufacturing processes. The 32-gauge designation indicates an extremely fine bore, ideal for micro-deposits and intricate dispensing tasks.
Popular Applications & Uses
- Dispensing of adhesives, including cyanoacrylates, epoxies, and UV-cure adhesives.- Application of sealants such as silicones and RTVs.- Precise dispensing of greases, oils, and lubricants.- Controlled application of solder pastes, flux, and conductive inks in electronics assembly.- Underfill and dam and fill applications.- General fluid dispensing in automated and manual systems requiring high precision.
Industries that Commonly Use It
- Aerospace/Defense: For bonding and sealing in critical components.- Automotive Service/Repair: For applying adhesives, sealants, and lubricants in vehicle manufacturing and repair.- Chemical Industry: For precise handling and dispensing of various chemicals.- Construction/ Building Services: For controlled application of sealants and adhesives in specialized building applications.- General Manufacturing: Broadly used for applying paints, coatings, adhesives, and other assembly fluids.- LED/Electronics: Essential for semiconductor packaging, PCB assembly, mobile device manufacturing, and other high-tech electronic applications.- Medical Device/ Prosthetics: Utilized in the manufacturing processes of medical devices for precision fluid application (not for direct medical use).- Metal Fabrication: For bonding and sealing operations requiring durable and chemically resistant tips.- Mold Making/ Casting: For dispensing epoxies, resins, and other viscous materials into molds.- Plastic Fabrication: For precise adhesive application in the assembly and bonding of plastic components.
Special and Unique Features
- **Precision Dispensing:** Designed for accurate, consistent, and repeatable fluid application, crucial for micro-volume tasks.- **Durable Construction:** Features a stainless steel cannula, offering excellent durability, corrosion resistance, and suitability for harsh chemicals and high-temperature applications.- **Secure Connection:** Equipped with both Push-On and Luer-Lock hubs for a secure, leak-free attachment to syringe barrels, valves, and dispensing systems.- **Burr-Free Design:** Polished and burr-free tip design ensures smooth fluid flow and prevents residuals, enhancing dispensing accuracy.- **Fine Gauge:** The 32-gauge (yellow color-coded) provides an extremely fine bore for very small, precise deposits and low-viscosity fluids.- **Industrial Grade & Silicone-Free:** Manufactured in a silicone-free environment to prevent contamination, ensuring suitability for sensitive industrial applications.
Key Properties
- **Material:** Stainless Steel (cannula), Polypropylene (PP) (hub).- **Gauge:** 32-Gauge (equivalent to approximately 0.004" / 0.10 mm Inside Diameter).- **Length:** 1/2-inch.- **Connection Type:** Push-On and Luer-Lock hub.- **Color Code:** Yellow (standard color for 32-gauge).- **Pressure Rating:** Safe for use up to 100 psi.- **Design:** Blunt end, straight cannula.
Surface Compatibility
These dispensing tips are designed to apply fluids onto a wide array of industrial substrates. The stainless steel cannula ensures inertness with many chemicals, making it suitable for dispensing onto metals, plastics, ceramics, glass, and composite materials without tip degradation. The compatibility is primarily determined by the fluid being dispensed and the substrate it is applied to.
Known backups / known substitutes
- **Other Gauge Sizes:** Larger gauge tips (e.g., 14G, 16G, 18G) for higher flow rates or smaller gauge tips (e.g., 30G) for even finer lines, depending on application needs.- **Tapered Dispensing Tips:** Often made of plastic, these tips are designed with a gradually narrowing bore to reduce backpressure and facilitate the dispensing of very viscous fluids like epoxies and silicones.- **Flexible Dispensing Tips:** Made from PTFE or polypropylene tubing, these are ideal for scratch-sensitive surfaces or reaching confined, angled areas.- **Plastic Dispensing Tips:** Generally less expensive and disposable, but may offer lower durability, chemical resistance, and temperature stability compared to steel tips.- **Brush Dispensing Tips:** Used for spreading or coating applications where a brush-like finish is desired.
Comparison Note
The Jensen NT Precision Dispensing Tips, with their steel construction and 32-gauge bore, offer a distinct advantage in applications demanding high durability, chemical resistance, and extreme precision. Unlike plastic tips, steel tips can withstand harsh chemicals and higher temperatures, making them suitable for robust industrial environments and automated high-speed dispensing. The very fine 32-gauge opening is optimized for micro-volume dispensing and intricate patterns, providing superior control for low-viscosity fluids. However, for extremely viscous materials, a larger gauge or a tapered tip might be more efficient by reducing the required dispensing pressure.
