The DFL Mixing Nozzle Extension Tube Assembly For MixPac MixCoat Spray System.
This re-usable extension tube allows the operator to extend unmixed resinsfor 1, 15, or 3 meters from the dispensing cartridge. To enable for more flexible application of faster setting spray-on materials and formulas.
It accomlishes this by extending the two unmixed parts through two separate tubes from the cartridge outlet to the black mixing nozzle assembly at the opposite end of the extension tube. 3 length extensions available.
Product Name
DFL Mixing Nozzle Extension Tube Assembly For MixPac MixCoat Spray System
Brief Description
The DFL Mixing Nozzle Extension Tube Assembly is an essential accessory for the MixPac MixCoat Spray System, designed to facilitate the precise and flexible application of two-component (2K) coatings, adhesives, and sealants. This re-usable extension tube allows for the remote dispensing of unmixed resins, extending the mixing point closer to the application surface, which is particularly beneficial for fast-setting materials and hard-to-access areas.
Popular Applications & Uses
- Small volume coating applications- Touch-up and repair work for 2-component coatings- Application of high-performance protective coatings- Dispensing of two-part adhesives, sealants, epoxies, and polyurethanes- Coating repairs and maintenance in marine environments- Pipeline and bridge maintenance- Tank and steel structure coatings- Wind power equipment maintenance- Railway and automotive applications- Applications in confined spaces or difficult-to-access areas
Industries that Commonly Use It
- Automotive Service/Repair- Construction/ Building Services- General Manufacturing- Government & Military (especially defense industry)- Marine- Metal Fabrication- Petroleum Industry, Products or Services (for pipeline applications)- Transportation/ Specialty Vehicle (for rail and automotive)- Energy (for wind power applications)- Chemical Industry (for handling reactive chemicals and protective coatings in chemical plants)
Special and Unique Features
- **Extension of Mixing Point:** Allows unmixed resins to be extended for 1.5 or 3 meters from the dispensing cartridge, enabling more flexible application of fast-setting materials.- **Dual Flex Lane (DFL) System:** Features separated hoses, making it ideal for materials with very short pot life and for reaching hard-to-access areas.- **QUADRO Mixing Technology:** Ensures outstanding and consistent mixing efficiency for two-component materials.- **Precise Mixing Ratio:** Guarantees that materials are mixed to the prescribed ratio, leading to high-quality application and consistent results.- **Reduced Waste and Exposure:** Minimizes material waste, chemical exposure, and odors due to its closed system design and efficient mixing.- **One-Hand Operation:** Compatible with MixCoat systems featuring a dual-stage trigger for integrated airflow control, allowing for user-friendly, one-hand operation.- **Quick Lock Air Connection:** Facilitates easy and comfortable exchange of cartridges.
Key Properties
- **Material Compatibility:** Designed for two-component coatings, adhesives, and sealants, including epoxies and polyurethanes.- **Cartridge Compatibility:** Fully compatible with large MIXPAC F-System cartridges ranging from 940 mL to 1500 mL, in ratios such as 1:1, 2:1, 3:1, and 4:1.- **Length Options:** Available in 1.5-meter and 3.0-meter lengths.- **Re-usable Extension Tube:** The extension tube component is re-usable, while the mixing nozzle itself is typically disposable.- **Low Pressure Spray Technology:** Contributes to a consistent spray pattern and minimal overspray.
Surface Compatibility
The DFL Mixing Nozzle Extension Tube Assembly is used to apply coatings, adhesives, and sealants to a wide range of surfaces, depending on the specific material being dispensed. These can include:- Metal surfaces (e.g., steel structures, pipelines, tanks, automotive bodies, railway components)- Concrete and other construction materials (e.g., bridges, building structures)- Composite materials (e.g., wind turbine blades, marine vessels)- Various substrates requiring high-performance and protective coatings in industrial environments
Known backups / known substitutes
- **Standard Static Mixing Nozzles:** Other static mixing nozzles without the extended tube feature, used directly on the cartridge or dispenser.- **MixCoat Flex Hose System (FHS):** Another MixCoat system variant designed for difficult-to-access areas, often with a different hose and mixer configuration.- **Manual Mixing and Application:** Traditional hand mixing of two-component materials followed by application with brushes or rollers, though this is less efficient and can lead to inconsistent results and more waste.- **Other Plural Component Spray Systems:** Alternative plural component spray equipment from various manufacturers (e.g., Graco XP70) for larger scale industrial applications.
Comparison Note
The DFL Mixing Nozzle Extension Tube Assembly distinguishes itself from standard static mixing nozzles by offering a significant extension of the mixing point, allowing for the application of fast-setting, two-component materials in areas that are otherwise challenging to reach. Unlike basic manual mixing, it ensures a precise and consistent mixing ratio, minimizing human error and material waste, while also reducing chemical exposure. Compared to other MixCoat system components like the Flex Hose System (FHS), the DFL system is specifically highlighted for its separated hoses, making it particularly suitable for materials with very short pot life. This specialized design enhances flexibility and precision for critical repair and maintenance tasks where conventional spray methods or shorter nozzles would be impractical or less effective.
