Stop leaks instantly—without shutting down the water. The CS NRI Syntho-Glass UP Kit is an all-in-one emergency repair system designed to seal live, pressurized leaks (up to 60 psi) on copper, steel, PVC, and concrete pipes. Featuring a specialized pressure-sealing rubber tape and a water-activated fiberglass wrap, it cures rock-hard in just 30 minutes. Fully NSF 61 and BS6920 compliant, it’s the trusted, safe choice for repairing drinking water lines and critical industrial piping on the fly.
This kit is designed for Pressurized repairs as high as 60psi without depressurizing.
The Pressurized, Under-Pressure (UP) repair system was specifically designed for active, pressurized pipe repair applications on copper, steel, SS, PVC, FRP, clay, concrete, and rubber. By combining the original Syntho-Glass® product, with the extremely chemically resistant Syntho-Steel™, and unique Pressure Sealing Rubber Tape, this offers the geometric flexibility to repair joints, tees, couplings, and pinholes. This complete system simplifies the application process and is prepackaged to accommodate pipes up to 10 inches in diameter. Larger repair applications can be engineered to meet your requirements.
Syntho-Glass® UP is the originally patented fiberglass pre-impregnated composite that is activated by saltwater or freshwater. Packaged in a hermetically sealed foil pouch, it is ready to use and does not require any measuring or mixing. When used with the appropriate primary sealant, it can repair and reinforce virtually any pipe in minutes. Syntho-Glass® not only restores a pipe to its original pressure rating, it can make the repair area stronger than the original pipe reducing downtime, saving in parts and labor. Syntho-Glass® is a versatile solution for situations in which swift repair is critical. With an initial setting time of only 30 minutes (75°F/24°C), Syntho-Glass® provides superior, rapid repair on copper, steel, stainless steel, PVC, FRP, clay, concrete, and rubber pipe. Designed to be inherently safe, it is nontoxic, noncombustible, and odorless.
This repair system also is easy to install. The Syntho-Glass® UP installation kit delivers all the components needed for a repair and arrives on site packaged in a hermetically sealed foil pouch, ready to use without any measuring or mixing.

Product Name: CS NRI Syntho-Glass UP Pressurized Pipe Repair Kits (Under Pressure)
Syntho-Glass UP is a complete, pre-packaged pipe repair system designed to seal live leaks on pressurized pipes up to 60 psi (4.1 bar) without shutting down the system. It combines the original water-activated Syntho-Glass fiberglass composite wrap with a specialized pressure-sealing rubber tape and Syntho-Steel putty. This combination allows operators to stop the leak instantly and then reinforce the pipe with a durable, rock-hard composite shell. It is NSF 61 and BS6920 compliant for use on drinking water lines when used with the included Syntho-Steel putty.
Popular Applications & Uses
- Emergency repair of active leaks in water, wastewater, and industrial piping.
- Sealing pinholes, cracks, and leaking joints on pressurized lines (up to 60 psi).
- Repairing tees, couplings, and irregular pipe fittings.
- Reinforcing corroded or thinned pipe walls to extend service life.
- Potable water line repairs (NSF 61 compliant).
Industries that Commonly Use It
- Municipal Water and Wastewater
- Industrial Processing and Manufacturing
- Marine and Offshore
- Mining
- Plumbing and HVAC Facilities Maintenance

Known backups / known substitutes for this product
- Fernco Pow-R Wrap (Industrial pipe wrap).
- J-B Weld FiberWeld (Consumer grade).
- Oatey Fix-It Stick + Fiber Fix (Component assembly).
- Note: Few competitors offer a certified "Under Pressure" kit with NSF 61 compliance in a single package like Syntho-Glass UP.
Comparison Note
- The "UP" in Syntho-Glass UP stands for **Under Pressure**. Standard fiberglass wraps (like Syntho-Glass NP) cannot stop a live leak on their own; the water pressure will just push through the resin before it cures. The UP kit includes a specialized **pressure-sealing rubber tape** and **Syntho-Steel putty** that stops the active leak *first*, creating a stable foundation for the fiberglass wrap to cure over.
