Description
CCA800 CA Glue Stone Repair Kit for repairing fissures, scratches and chips in stone.
Kit Includes:
1 (1 oz) bottle of CA5 Thin Set
1 (1 oz) bottle of CA2400 Thick Set
1 (2 oz) spray bottle of Quick Tack II Accelerator
CA5 Thin Set CA Glue (1 oz)
CA5 is a THIN-SET CA glue with a viscosity similar to water with little to no surface tension. Simply run this instant adhesive along the crack and the adhesive will fill right in. You may also use the CA5 Thin Set for filling and stopping any spread of cracks in wood for furniture applications and more. Once the CA5 soaks into the pores or cracks we would recommend using our Quick Tac II Accelerator to ensure the complete cure of the adhesive. Store any unopened bottles in a freezer to extend shelf life.
CA2400 Thick Set CA Glue (1 oz)
CA2400 is a THICK-SET CA glue with a viscosity similar to honey used to fill larger gaps compared to the CA5 Thin Set. If you have a larger chunk missing from a wood or stone surface, or if you are gluing poorly fitting materials this is the best CA glue to use. Once the CA2400 settles into the crack or gouge we would recommend using our Quick Tac II Accelerator to ensure the complete cure of the adhesive. Store any unopened bottles in a freezer to extend shelf life.
Quick Tack II Accelerator (2 oz Spray Bottle)
Quick Tack II (QT2) Accelerator is designed to be used specifically with natural stones like granite and marble. The accelerator will help ensure the cure of the CA5 and CA2400 CA instant adhesives and also help save time. The Quick Tack II is a wonderful product for darker stones but you will want to apply this as a light mist. Discoloration may occur but that will only occur when the stone is “soaked” with accelerator. If the stone is visibly wet, you are applying too much. We recommend the Quick Tac II with all granite or marble but if you have a light colored stone more perceptible to blooming or staining we would recommend using the Stone Tac “Low Bloom” Accelerator or a UV Stone Repair Kit. The Stone Tac is available individually or in our “Low Bloom” CA Stone Repair Kits. All available below.
1. Kitchen Countertop Chip Repair
This is the #1 reason people buy this kit. The edges of
granite or quartz countertops (especially near the sink or dishwasher) are
prone to "impact chips" from pots and pans.
- The
Use Case: The CA2400 (Thick) adhesive fills the void of a
missing chunk, while the Quick Tac II hardens it instantly so you
can sand and polish it flush before dinner.
2. Filling "Fissures" and Hairline Cracks
Natural stones like marble and exotic granites often have
natural fissures that can open up over time due to house settling or heat.
- The
Use Case: The CA5 (Thin) glue is designed to move like water.
It uses capillary action to "wick" deep into the narrowest
cracks, reinforcing the stone from the inside out and preventing the crack
from spreading.
3. "Pit" Filling in High-Movement Areas
Certain stones, particularly Travertine or lower-grade
granites, have natural pits or "honeycombing." These pits can collect
food and bacteria.
- The
Use Case: Using the clear adhesive to fill these small voids creates a
sanitary, smooth surface that is virtually invisible once cured.
4. Seamless Miter Joint Reinforcement
For professional installers, getting a mitered edge to look
like a solid block of stone is the goal.
- The
Use Case: If a miter joint has a tiny gap or a "dry" spot,
the CCA800 kit is used to "tighten" the visual seam. Because it
is water-clear, it doesn't leave a visible line, unlike colored
epoxies which can sometimes be too opaque.
5. Floor Tile Repair (Marble & Travertine)
Dropping a heavy object on a marble floor tile usually
results in a "star crack" or a "shiner."
- The
Use Case: Instead of ripping out a whole tile (which is expensive and
messy), the kit allows you to fill the damaged area and level it. Since
the adhesive is non-yellowing, it won't stand out as a "stain"
on the floor years later.
6. Bonding Undermount Sink Clips
While not its primary "beauty" use, the
high-strength cyanoacrylate is often used to quickly tack undermount sink clips
to the bottom of a stone counter while the primary silicone or epoxy cures.
Why it’s the "Go-To" for Pros:
- Speed:
You aren't waiting 24 hours for epoxy to dry. It's fixed in seconds. - Clarity:
It doesn't have the "amber" tint found in cheaper adhesives,
making it safe for white marbles and light quartz. - Versatility:
It works on Granite, Marble, Quartz, Quartzite, Limestone, and even
Porcelain.
