Description
One-Component Upgrade for Bonding Countertop Brackets to Stone and Quartz
CarbonBond 1C is a next-generation, hybrid adhesive developed to replace traditional silicone and polyurethane construction adhesives in countertop fabrication. Specifically formulated for bonding CarbonBar, steel or aluminum brackets to the underside of quartz, granite, and solid surface countertops, it delivers 3–5x the strength of silicone, immediate grab, and long-term durability — all in a simple, one-component formula.
This product is an ideal adhesive solution for fabricators using CarbonBar concealed support brackets, offering a clean, fast-curing, and dependable bond that enhances the performance of your reinforcement system. Whether you’re working in the shop or on-site, CarbonBond 1C ensures brackets stay locked in place with no shrinkage, no bubbling, and no guesswork.
Key Features & Benefits
-
Perfect for CarbonBar Bracket Installations
Bonds CarbonBar carbon fiber brackets to stone and quartz with superior strength. -
One-Component, No Mixing Required
Ready-to-use from the cartridge — simplifies workflow and saves time. -
3–5x the Strength of Silicone
Provides a stronger, more reliable bond under load and over time. -
Immediate Green Strength
Grabs quickly on vertical or horizontal surfaces — no clamps or braces required in most installs. -
No Shrinkage, 100% Solids Formula
Delivers a consistent, durable bead that won’t shrink away during cure. -
Cures on Damp Surfaces, Even in the Cold
Maintains performance in jobsite conditions down to 32°F and on wet substrates. -
Flexible Yet Durable
Withstands vibration and minor movement without cracking or delaminating. -
VOC-Compliant and Solvent-Free
Safer to use, meets Prop 65, CARB, and SCAQMD guidelines.
Why It’s Better Than Silicone or Polyurethane Construction Adhesive
Silicone Limitations:
-
Not paintable
-
Weak adhesive properties
-
Must fully cure before exposure to moisture
-
High odor from acetoxy formulations
Polyurethane Construction Adhesive Limitations:
-
Slow skin and cure times
-
Reacts with moisture — causing bubbles or outgassing
-
Contains isocyanates (health risk)
-
Difficult to tool, limited substrate compatibility
CarbonBond 1C eliminates these problems, offering better performance, faster application, and broader compatibility with a wide range of countertop substrates and bracket types.
Recommended Applications
-
CarbonBar Concealed Bracket Bonding
The preferred adhesive for securing CarbonBar brackets to quartz, granite, and solid surface materials. -
Undermount Support Installation
Reinforce bar tops, overhangs, and floating vanities without relying on visible fasteners. -
On-Site or Shop Use
Applies and cures consistently in both controlled and unpredictable environments.
Compatible Substrates
-
Engineered Quartz, granite, marble, solid surface
-
CarbonBar brackets
-
Porcelain, glass, ceramic
-
PVC, EPS, fiberglass, other plastics
-

1. Bonding Carbon Fiber Reinforcements
The primary use case for this adhesive is installing CarbonBar or carbon fiber reinforcement strips to the underside of stone countertops. Because carbon fiber is black, this adhesive provides a seamless, professional look. It creates a structural bond that transfers the load from the stone to the carbon fiber, preventing cracks and failures in fragile areas like sink cutouts.
2. Securing Countertop Support Brackets
Installers use CarbonBond 1C to attach steel or carbon fiber brackets to the underside of granite, quartz, and marble. Traditional epoxies can be too brittle, but this hybrid adhesive stays slightly flexible. This allows it to handle the different rates of expansion and contraction between the metal bracket and the stone surface, ensuring the bracket never pops off due to temperature changes.
3. Mounting Undermount Sinks
This adhesive is frequently used as a structural sealant for mounting undermount sinks to stone or solid surface counters. It provides a waterproof seal while offering enough adhesive strength to support the weight of the sink. Its resistance to mold and mildew makes it ideal for the damp environment under a kitchen or bathroom basin.
4. Outdoor Kitchen and Masonry Construction
Since CarbonBond 1C is a hybrid polymer, it is highly resistant to UV radiation and extreme weather. It is commonly used in outdoor kitchen fabrication to bond stone veneers, capstones on retaining walls, and outdoor countertop surfaces. Unlike many standard adhesives, it can often be applied to damp surfaces, which is a major advantage for job site installations.
5. Perimeter Sealing for Dark Surfaces
The deep black finish of this sealant makes it a popular choice for "hidden" perimeter sealing. It is used to seal joints where dark stone countertops meet dark backsplashes or cabinetry. It provides a much cleaner look than standard clear or white silicones, which can highlight gaps rather than hiding them.
6. Automotive and Marine Trim Bonding
Outside of the stone industry, the high-tack and vibration-resistant properties of this hybrid sealant make it useful for bonding trim pieces, panels, and accessories in the marine and automotive sectors. It creates a permanent bond that can withstand constant movement and exposure to salt water or road chemicals without cracking or losing its grip.
7. Bonding Dissimilar Materials
One of the most versatile uses for this product is bonding materials that usually don't "play well" together, such as bonding metal to wood, glass to stone, or plastic to masonry. The hybrid chemistry is designed to adhere to non-porous and porous surfaces alike without the need for a primer in most applications.
