3M Scotch-Weld DP405 is a two-part, rapid-setting toughened epoxy adhesive that provides strong, durable bonds with excellent impact and vibration resistance. Its 5-minute work life makes it ideal for fast-paced production environments, while its toughened nature allows it to absorb impacts and stresses that would cause more brittle epoxies to fail. Comparison Note
- The key feature of 3M DP405 is its combination of speed and toughness. Compared to a standard 5-minute epoxy like Devcon's, DP405 offers significantly better impact and peel strength. Compared to a higher-performance epoxy like 3M DP420, DP405 provides a much faster cure at the expense of some ultimate strength and a shorter positioning time.
