Small Tin. Big Help When Something Breaks.

Maven Field Fix puts fast setting 2 part epoxy and fiberglass reinforcement in a compact tin you can pack in your truck, toolbox, camping bag, or tackle box. From a loose fishing rod guide to a cracked tool handle, it gives you a practical way to tackle small repairs when a replacement is miles away.

Use the epoxy on its own for bonding and patching, or combine it with the included fiberglass strips to reinforce a repair. The epoxy gels in approximately 3–5 minutes at 77°F (25°C), reaches handling strength in 15–30 minutes, and fully cures in 24 hours at 73°F (23°C).

What's Inside

  • 5 packets of fast setting 2 part epoxy
  • 5 fiberglass tape strips for reinforcing repairs
  • 1 mixing bag
  • 1 pair of gloves
  • 1 compact tin to keep the kit together

Repair Ideas for the Road, Campsite, Workshop & Water

  • Fishing gear: Reattach loose rod guides, bond handle components, or reinforce suitable rigid sections of a damaged fishing pole.
  • Camping equipment: Patch rigid gear housings or reinforce a damaged tent pole section with fiberglass tape where a rigid repair is suitable.
  • Pipes & fittings: Patch small cracks in compatible, fully drained and depressurized piping with clean, dry repair surfaces.
  • Tools & workshop items: Bond loose handles, repair chipped wooden parts, or reattach small metal brackets.
  • Boat accessories: Reattach loose trim, repair wooden accessories, or patch small chips in compatible fiberglass panels above the waterline after drying and preparing the surface.
  • Everyday items: Mend broken ceramic pieces, small wooden fixtures, rigid housings, and other compatible parts.

Values are typical laboratory results for the epoxy, not a load rating for a completed kit repair. Actual performance depends on materials, preparation, joint design, temperature, and cure conditions. Gel time is not full cure; position parts promptly after mixing.

Materials It Bonds To

Material Examples & Preparation Notes
Metals Carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Remove oil, rust, and loose coatings; scuff to expose a sound bonding surface.
Wood Handles, small fixtures, and rigid wooden components. Bond to clean, dry, solid wood.
Concrete & stone Small chips and rigid patches. Remove dust and loose or crumbling material.
Glass & ceramic Small rigid items and broken pieces. Clean thoroughly and align carefully.
Cured epoxy & compatible fiberglass composites Small patches and accessory repairs. Remove wax and surface contamination, then scuff and test adhesion.
Many plastics Compatibility varies by plastic formulation. Test adhesion on the actual part before relying on a repair.
Leather Small bonds where a rigid cured adhesive is appropriate. Test first for adhesion and appearance.

How to Use Maven Field Fix

  1. Prepare everything first. Dry-fit the parts and arrange the fiberglass tape before mixing. Put on the gloves and follow the epoxy packet's handling precautions.
  2. Clean the repair area as thoroughly as possible. Remove oils, grease, dirt, wax, and loose material. Use a cleaner suitable for the material and allow the surface to dry completely.
  3. Scuff when possible. Lightly abrade the bonding area with sandpaper or an abrasive pad to create a sound surface. Remove sanding dust and any remaining contamination before bonding.
  4. Mix Your Packets. Follow the packet's opening and mixing directions, combining the appropriate amount of resin and hardener thoroughly into your mixing bag.
  5. Apply promptly. Place your fiberglass strips into the mixing bag and continue to mix, making sure to massage the epoxy into the fiberglass tape thoroughly.
  6. Hold the repair still. Support or clamp the parts without squeezing all adhesive from the joint. Allow approximately 15–30 minutes before gentle handling.
  7. Time to cure. Wait 1-2 Hours for a functional cure, and 24 hours for a full cure.

Storage

Store unopened epoxy in a dry location at 60–80°F (16–27°C). Pack the tin for your trip and keep it away from prolonged vehicle heat or freezing storage conditions.
