Maven MMA 560 is a two-part methacrylate adhesive suitable for structural bonding of various metals, plastics and composites.
And works particularly well for Marine & Boat assembly & repairs. The product can be used for larger assemblies and for filling larger gaps. This is a 1:1-part methacrylate adhesive with an open time of 50 minutes to 70 minutes and handling strength can be achieved in 180 minutes - 230 minutes. Give excellent bond strength along with good toughness and high impact strength. Highly recommended in marine and other composite assemblies.
MMA 560 is a direct substitute / backup formula for the Plexus MA560.
Please Note: These cartridges are designed to work best with a 50ml or 400ml cartridge Dispenser, respectively. We advise you use a 50ml or 400ml Dispenser for all respective cartridges. If you do not have one, please check out our Dispensers, all are excellent products and have our 'it's good' seal of approval.
If you prefer not to use a Dispenser, we have some 50ml kits that include hand tools or caulking dispenser adapters, as pictured, that you can use for small jobs. But the 400ml cartridges really need to use a 400ml Dispenser, they're just too big to effectively use without the dispenser.

Directions of applications
Wipe off and degrease the surface to be bonded. Use eye protection and gloves to avoid skin contact. Dispense a desirable amount of adhesive using a dispensing dispenser. The nozzle sizes can be selected according to the desired bond thickness. Join the substrates with the specified work-life of this material and allow it to cure at room temperature. Do not disturb the parts during the curing process. Excess adhesive can be wiped off. (For optimum strength, surface preparation for the metals like sandblast, etching is suggested).
Safety and handling
Wear eye protection and gloves. Harmful if swallowed. Keep it away from heat, flames. Keep out of reach of children. Once used keep the containers closed.
Storage and shelf life
Store this product in a tightly closed container in a cool and well-ventilated area. Product should not be frozen. Keep it away from any source of heat. Store the material in between 51℉ to 75℉. Continuous exposure above 75℃ will reduce the shelf life.
Product Name
Maven MMA 560 - Slow Set 60 minutes MMA Marine-Optimized Adhesive - White or Black, Thick/High Viscosity 1:1 ratio
Brief Description
Maven MMA 560 is a two-part, slow-setting methyl methacrylate (MMA) structural adhesive specifically engineered for demanding marine environments and other applications requiring robust, flexible, and high-strength bonds. It offers a generous 50-70 minute working time, making it ideal for larger assemblies and precise positioning. Its thick, high-viscosity formulation allows for excellent gap-filling and non-sag performance on vertical surfaces. This adhesive is optimized for bonding a wide range of dissimilar materials, including various metals, plastics, and composites, with minimal surface preparation.
Popular Applications & Uses
- Structural bonding of metals, plastics, and composites.- Marine and boat assembly and repairs, including hulls, deck liners, ski boats, yachts, internal fixtures, canoes, and kayaks.- Composite bonding in various industries.- Automotive and transportation applications, such as bonding composite panels, body structures, and interior components for trucks and construction equipment.- General manufacturing and repair applications requiring strong, durable bonds.- Bonding dissimilar materials where flexibility and impact resistance are crucial.- Large assembly projects and applications requiring significant gap-filling.
Industries that Commonly Use It
- Marine- Transportation/ Specialty Vehicle- General Manufacturing- Metal Fabrication- Plastic Fabrication- Fabrication- Construction/ Building Services- Aerospace/Defense
Special and Unique Features
- **Slow Set/Long Working Time:** Offers a 50-70 minute working time, allowing for complex assemblies, precise alignment, and bonding of large surface areas.- **Marine-Optimized:** Formulated for excellent resistance to water, saltwater, solvents, and harsh environmental conditions, ensuring durability in marine applications.- **High Viscosity & Gap-Filling:** Thick consistency prevents sagging on vertical surfaces and effectively fills gaps up to 0.60 inches (15mm).- **Structural Bonding:** Creates strong, load-bearing bonds that can replace traditional mechanical fasteners and welding.- **Bonds Dissimilar Materials:** Capable of bonding a wide variety of materials with different coefficients of thermal expansion, such as metals to plastics or composites.- **Minimal Surface Preparation:** Often requires little to no surface preparation, saving time and labor in application.- **High Impact & Fatigue Resistance:** Provides exceptional toughness and durability, withstanding vibration, impact, and dynamic loads.- **Easy 1:1 Mix Ratio:** Simplifies the mixing and application process.
Key Properties
- **Adhesive Type:** Two-part Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) structural adhesive.- **Working Time:** 50-70 minutes (at 30gm mass).- **Fixture Time:** 180-230 minutes to handling strength.- **Mix Ratio:** 1:1 by volume.- **Viscosity:** Thick/High Viscosity, non-sagging.- **Color:** Available in White or Black.- **Gap Filling:** Up to 0.75mm-15mm (.03in-.60in).- **Chemical Resistance:** Excellent resistance to hydrocarbons, acids, and bases; susceptible to polar solvents.- **Water Resistance:** Excellent.- **Temperature Resistance:** Good resistance to thermal cycling and a wide operating temperature range (MMAs generally -40°F to 302°F (-40°C to 150°C)).- **Impact Strength:** High.- **Flexibility:** Provides a strong, flexible bond to accommodate differential thermal expansion.

Known backups / known substitutes
- Plexus MA560 (explicitly mentioned as a direct substitute/backup).- Infinity Bond MMA 560 (comparable product with similar specifications).- Other slow-set, high-viscosity MMA adhesives from brands like Infinity Bond (e.g., MMA 422, MMA 2245, MMA 1025) or SCIGRIP (e.g., SG300 series).- Epoxy adhesives (though with different performance characteristics).- Polyurethane adhesives (though with different performance characteristics).
Comparison Note
Maven MMA 560, as an MMA adhesive, offers significant advantages over traditional joining methods like welding and mechanical fasteners by providing lighter, faster, and more aesthetic bonds. Compared to many epoxy adhesives, MMAs typically provide higher peel strength, better impact and fatigue resistance, and require less surface preparation. Its inherent flexibility allows for effective bonding of dissimilar materials by accommodating differential thermal expansion without cracking. While some epoxies may achieve higher ultimate tensile strengths or superior heat/chemical resistance in specific formulations, the Maven MMA 560's marine optimization, extended working time, and high viscosity make it particularly well-suited for large, complex, and demanding applications in wet or harsh environments. Note that some MMA adhesives, including comparable MMA 560 products, are not UV stable and may yellow over time if exposed to sunlight, though this typically does not affect bond strength.
