Loctite Naval Jelly Rust Dissolver is a fast-acting, phosphoric-acid gel formulated to cut through heavy rust on iron and steel without wire brushing or sanding. In use for more than 40 years, the thick pink gel clings to vertical and overhead surfaces instead of running off, so it stays put on pitted bolts, tools, railings, and equipment.
This 8 oz bottle is sized for shop and field touch-up work: brush or spray it on, let it dwell for 5 to 10 minutes, then rinse. The formula is water-soluble for easy cleanup and leaves bare metal ready for a protective coating or paint.

How to Use
- Scrape away loose rust and dirt, and remove any oil or grease from the surface.
- Apply between 50°F and 90°F (10°C to 32°C). Brush the gel on liberally, working it into pitted or heavily rusted areas.
- Let the gel dwell for 5 to 10 minutes. Do not exceed 15 minutes of total contact time.
- Rinse thoroughly with fresh water. Repeat the application if any rust remains.
- Dry the surface and apply a clear coating, primer, or paint within 24 hours to protect the bare metal. Do not use latex topcoats directly over treated metal.

Naval Jelly Rust Dissolver is a corrosive, acid-based product (DOT Hazard Class 8, UN1805, Packing Group III). Use only with adequate ventilation and avoid breathing vapor or mist. Wear chemical-resistant gloves, an apron or protective clothing, and splash-proof eye protection; flush skin or eyes immediately with water on contact. Use only on ferrous metals such as iron and steel — do not use on aluminum, chrome, stainless steel, cement, fiberglass, marble, plastics, or painted surfaces, and note that it will remove paint. Keep away from children and pets, store above freezing, and dispose of unused product through an approved hazardous-waste facility.
