LOCTITE EA 9153 LocWeld – 15-Minute Cold Weld Epoxy

LOCTITE EA 9153 LocWeld is a two-part, metal-filled epoxy adhesive and repair filler designed for cold-weld applications. It provides a practical alternative to welding or brazing for many non-structural metal repairs, producing a rigid gray bond that can be drilled, tapped, filed, sanded, machined, and painted after cure.

Application guidance

1. Clean and dry both surfaces, removing grease, oil, corrosion, paint, and loose material. Roughening or abrasive blasting improves results.
2. Dispense equal amounts of resin and hardener onto a disposable mixing surface.
3. Mix thoroughly until the color is uniform, then apply immediately to both surfaces.
4. Join and support the parts for at least 10–15 minutes. Allow approximately 16 hours for full cure; cooler conditions slow the cure.

Limitations and safety

Not recommended for pure oxygen or oxygen-rich systems and should not be used as a sealant for chlorine or other strong oxidizers. This repair compound is not a substitute for engineered structural welding. Use with adequate ventilation and wear suitable gloves and eye protection.
