How to Apply
MOLYKOTE 111 Compound can be applied:
-
By hand
-
By brushing or wiping
-
With specially designed automated equipment
-
With compatible grease-dispensing equipment
Certain grease gun designs may seize when dispensing this material, so equipment should be tested before regular use.
Chemical Resistance
MOLYKOTE 111 is generally resistant to:
-
Mineral oils
-
Vegetable oils
-
Air exposure
-
Dilute acids
-
Dilute alkalines
-
Most aqueous solutions
Because operating conditions such as chemical composition, pressure, flow velocity, relubrication requirements, and equipment design can vary, DuPont recommends testing the compound under actual end-use conditions before adopting it for regular use.
Storage & Shelf Life
When stored in its original unopened container between 0°C and 40°C (32°F to 104°F), MOLYKOTE 111 Compound has a usable life of 60 months from the date of production.
Safety & Handling
According to the current Safety Data Sheet, MOLYKOTE 111 Compound is classified under OSHA GHS criteria as not a hazardous substance or mixture.
For transportation, the SDS lists the product as not regulated for DOT ground, IMDG sea, or IATA/ICAO air transport.
Always review the current Safety Data Sheet before handling.
Important Use Notes
-
Do not use with liquid oxygen or in applications requiring LOX compatibility.
-
Avoid applying to surfaces that will later be painted or finished because coatings may not properly adhere to silicone-treated surfaces.
-
Test compatibility and performance under actual end-use conditions before regular use.
