DOWFROST™ LC 25 Heat Transfer Fluid, Dyed is a ready-to-use, pre-diluted inhibited propylene-glycol heat-transfer fluid developed for efficient heat removal and corrosion protection in data-center direct-to-chip liquid-cooling systems. Its customized inhibitor package is particularly suited to cooling loops with high copper surface area, while the fluorescent yellow color supports quick identification and leak detection.
Key Features & Benefits
- Pre-diluted 25% by-volume propylene-glycol formulation—use as supplied and do not dilute further
- Designed for direct-to-chip liquid cooling and Datacom Equipment Cooling Systems (DECS)
- Customized corrosion-inhibitor package helps protect metal components, especially high-copper-surface-area loops
- Freeze protection to approximately 14°F (-10°C)
- Recommended heat-transfer use range of 0°F to 195°F (-20°C to 90°C)
- Fluorescent yellow color aids fluid identification and leak detection
- Formulated with Dow PuraGuard™ Propylene Glycol USP/EP for consistent fluid quality and resistance to foaming
Popular Applications
- Direct-to-chip data-center cooling
- Liquid-cooled server systems
- Datacom Equipment Cooling Systems (DECS)
- Glycol-cooled computer-room air-conditioning (CRAC) systems
- Pumped glycol cooling loops and data-center heat exchangers
- Closed-loop cooling circuits with high copper surface area

Cooling & Freeze Protection
DOWFROST™ LC 25 provides freeze protection to approximately 14°F (-10°C). Dow lists a recommended use range of 0°F to 195°F (-20°C to 90°C); the lower operating limit reflects increasing fluid viscosity at low temperature. System design and operating conditions should be reviewed before use.
Handling, Storage & Shipping
Use the fluid as supplied. Store locked up in the original unopened, labeled container. Dow identifies carbon steel and stainless steel as suitable storage materials and advises against galvanized steel and opened or unlabeled containers. Review the current SDS and wear appropriate eye, skin, and workplace protection. The SDS classifies the product as Reproductive Toxicity Category 2 under OSHA/GHS. For transportation, the supplied SDS states that the product is not regulated under DOT, IMDG, or IATA.
