Brief Description

The Syntho-Plug is a "must-have" emergency response tool for any marine vessel or industrial facility. It consists of a soft, malleable foam plug saturated with a water-activated polyurethane resin. In its package, it is soft and squishy. When a breach occurs (such as a hull puncture from debris or a forklift tine through a chemical drum), the user simply wets the plug, inserts it into the hole, and smooths the outer edges to create a "mushroom" seal. The resin foams, expands to fill the void, and hardens into a solid, durable barrier in minutes.

Comparison Note

The Syntho-Plug is the modern evolution of the wooden "damage control plug." A wooden plug is rigid and conical; if the hole is a jagged tear (common in fiberglass collisions), a round wooden plug will not seal the corners. Syntho-Plug is squishy and conforms to the exact shape of the damage before hardening. The ability to "mushroom" the top of the plug creates a secondary seal on the outside of the hull, offering double protection that a wooden wedge cannot provide.
