Product Name
SynthoGlass PPR-220 two-part epoxy Primer (aka SUBLV)
Brief Description
The SynthoGlass PPR-220 is a solvent-free, chemically resistant, two-part bulk epoxy primer. It is specifically designed to optimize the bond strength between pipe surfaces (or epoxy fillers) and composite repair wraps or tapes, such as those in the SynthoGlass system. This primer also serves as a critical component for corrosion prevention and offers high-build capability without slumping or sagging.
Popular Applications & Uses
- Optimizing bond strength for composite pipe repair wraps and tapes.- Providing a corrosion prevention barrier for pipes.- Used atop filler compounds and underneath repair wraps or tapes.- Facilitating the transition of aggressive changes in geometry or large defects prior to installing composite repair systems.- Repair and reinforcement of various pipe materials, including copper, steel, stainless steel, PVC, FRP, clay, concrete, and rubber, when used with SynthoGlass wraps.- Acting as a bonding agent and promoter between the pipe and composite.- Ensuring load transfer between the pipe and composite.- Offering first contact protection against internal chemicals that may come into contact with the repair system.
Industries that Commonly Use It
- Petroleum Industry, Products or Services- Energy- Construction/Building Services- Marine- Chemical Industry- General Manufacturing- Government & Military- Industrial Supply- Engineering Services
Special and Unique Features
- Solvent-free formulation.- Highly chemically resistant to a wide variety of inorganic acids, alkalis, salts, and organic media.- Two-part bulk epoxy system for robust performance.- High-build capability without slumping or sagging, allowing for significant thickness in a single application.- Can be over-coated as soon as it is dry to the touch, speeding up repair processes.- Machinable once fully cured, allowing for precise finishing.- Available in convenient BiPack pouches (4 oz and 16 oz options) for mess-free mixing and application.- Compliant with key industry standards such as US DOT CFR 192 and 195, CSA Z662, ASME PCC-2 Article 401, and ISO 24817.
