SikaBiresin CR72 is a composite repair epoxy built for fabricating and repairing high-performance fiberglass and carbon fiber structures. This 100 percent solids resin is formulated for thorough fabric wetting and effective air release in both wet layup and resin-infusion processes, and it carries a UV-resistant formulation for parts that see sun exposure. Three CH72 hardeners give fabricators fast, medium, and slow working-time choices.

Composite Repair Epoxy Features

  • 100 percent solids, two-component epoxy system
  • UV-resistant general-purpose formulation
  • Supports wet layup and resin infusion processes
  • Three hardener speeds: CH72-1 fast, CH72-2 medium, CH72-3 slow
  • Mix ratio by weight: 100 resin to 18 hardener
  • Room-temperature cure with post-cure option

Popular Uses

  • Marine hull and structural repair, above and below the waterline
  • Composite part fabrication and mold work
  • High fiber-to-resin ratio laminates
  • Wet layup on fiberglass and carbon fiber
  • Resin infusion for larger or complex laminates

Composite Repair Epoxy Physical Properties

  • Mix ratio: 100 parts resin to 18 parts hardener by weight
  • Mixed viscosity: approximately 350 to 650 cps
  • Pot life: about 30 minutes (CH72-1 fast) up to 60 minutes (CH72-3 slow)
  • Formulation: UV-resistant, 100 percent solids

Mix Ratio & Cure

Condition materials consistently and weigh components to the specified ratio before mixing to a uniform batch. For infusion, verify the bag seal and flow plan before opening the resin inlet. For wet layup, remove trapped air while maintaining the specified resin content, and match hardener speed to part scale and shop temperature.

Precautions

FOR INDUSTRIAL USE ONLY. Refer to the SDS prior to use.
