Chem-Set CA5 is a medium-high viscosity cyanoacrylate super glue for fast bonding and gap filling. Its 1,200–2,400 cP formula bonds metals, ceramics, plastics and elastomers, with typical handling strength in just 5–10 seconds on steel, Buna N rubber and phenolic. It is a practical choice for small-part assembly, workshop repairs and applications requiring more gap-filling capability than conventional instant adhesives.

Choose Your Shelf Life
- Fresh Batch: Fresh-batch inventory; refer to the bottle's lot and expiration information for its actual remaining shelf life.
- Short Shelf Life (1-3 Mths Left): Product with approximately one to three months remaining before its labeled expiration date.
- Recently Expired: Product past its labeled expiration date. Published performance values should not be assumed for expired material; test suitability and cure performance before use.
Directions for Use
- Clean and dry both surfaces, removing grease and contamination with a substrate-compatible cleaner.
- Apply adhesive sparingly to one surface.
- Bring parts together promptly, align correctly and press to spread the adhesive into a thin film.
- Hold without moving until handling strength develops. Allow 24 hours for full strength under suitable conditions.
Storage and Handling
Store tightly closed in the original container at 35–45°F (2–7°C). Let the closed bottle reach room temperature before opening to help prevent condensation that can shorten shelf life. Use with adequate ventilation and appropriate eye and hand protection. Bonds skin and eyes rapidly; avoid contact. Do not use cotton or other absorbent gloves. Read the SDS before use.
Small-part assembly: Bond small metal, plastic, ceramic and rubber components when fast handling helps simplify assembly. Typical fixture times are 5–10 seconds on steel, Buna N rubber and phenolic.
Plastic component repairs: Suitable for bonding ABS, PVC and polycarbonate parts such as housings, trim and small molded components. The TDS also identifies polyacetals as an application. Test the specific plastic, surface finish and joint before use.
Rubber-to-metal and elastomer bonding: Use for small rubber pads, bumpers and similar component attachments to compatible substrates. Buna N rubber is among the materials with documented rapid fixture performance.
Metal component bonding: Join small metal parts and compatible passivated metal surfaces for workshop repairs and production assembly. Proper cleaning and surface preparation help achieve reliable bonds.
Ceramic and mixed-material repairs: A clear adhesive option for small ceramic repairs and mixed-material assemblies where the surfaces fit within the specified gap limit.
Gap-filling assembly work: The medium-high viscosity formula fills bond gaps up to 0.017 in (0.43 mm), making it useful where a conventional thin instant adhesive does not provide enough gap-filling capability.
Application suitability: These are applications based on the TDS's stated substrates and performance. Verify suitability on actual parts. Published cure and strength values should not be assumed for recently expired material.
