Description
Chem-Set™ CA2400 is a high-viscosity, thick-set cyanoacrylate adhesive designed for gap-filling applications where low- or medium-viscosity super glues are not effective. With a viscosity range of approximately 1,200–2,400 cP, CA2400 provides excellent control, reduced run-off, and improved build on uneven or imperfectly fitted parts.
Engineered for industrial assembly, maintenance, and repair operations, CA2400 delivers fast fixture times, rapid strength development, and durable bonds across a wide range of substrates including metals, ceramics, plastics, and elastomers. Its thick consistency makes it ideal for vertical surfaces, overhead bonding, and applications where precise placement and gap bridging are required.
CA2400 is also widely used in stone fabrication as a thick-grade cyanoacrylate for chip repair, edge repair, and surface restoration. Its gap-filling capability and clear cured appearance make it well suited for cosmetic repairs where appearance, speed, and control matter.

Cyanoacrylate Viscosity Comparison
| Product | Viscosity | Best Use Cases |
|---|---|---|
| Chem-Set™ CA5 (Thin) | Low | Wicking into tight joints, hairline cracks, porous materials |
| Chem-Set™ CA500 (Medium) | Medium | General-purpose bonding, moderate gap fill, everyday assembly |
| Chem-Set™ CA2400 (Thick Set) | High | Gap filling, vertical surfaces, chip repair, uneven substrates |
Selecting the correct viscosity is critical for bond strength, appearance, and application control. Our technical team can help match the right cyanoacrylate to your process.

Stone and countertop touch-ups: Repair small chips and minor edge imperfections in granite, quartz, marble, and porcelain. The thick consistency helps keep adhesive concentrated at the repair site for controlled placement.
Trim and molding assembly: Bond PVC trim, crown molding, and miter joints where a thicker adhesive is useful for precise application and minor gaps between mating surfaces.
Small-part assembly and repair: Join metal, ceramic, rubber, and compatible plastic components in workshop repairs and production assembly. Useful when a thin super glue would run away from the intended bond area.
Rubber and plastic component bonding: Assemble rubber seals, O-rings, gaskets, and compatible plastic fittings or trim. Check material compatibility and joint requirements before use.
Woodworking and craft repairs: Fill small wood cracks and make localized repairs on decorative pieces, craft projects, and musical instrument components where controlled adhesive placement matters.
Vertical and uneven joints: Apply adhesive to vertical surfaces and slightly imperfect mating parts with less run-off than a thin-grade cyanoacrylate. Best suited to small gaps within the product's specified gap-filling limit.
