Product Description
Make strong bonds without waiting for surfaces to dry. BoaBond SeaSnake is a one-part adhesive formulated for bonding in wet and underwater environments. It maintains tack on submerged surfaces and forms adhesive bonds when both applied and cured underwater, making it a practical choice for bonding tasks where moisture is part of the job.
The thick, non-sag formula allows application to surfaces in any orientation, including vertical and overhead areas. Its one-part design eliminates component mixing, while minimal surface-preparation requirements help simplify application. SeaSnake is intended for bonding metals, plastics, rubber, wood, and other materials in wet or underwater conditions.

With a 20-minute underwater working time, 60-minute underwater firm set, and 24-hour underwater full cure, SeaSnake provides clearly defined application and curing milestones. Laboratory testing also documents its bonding performance after underwater application and curing.

Tested Underwater Bonding Performance
The performance table on page 1 of the technical data sheet reports the following lap-shear results after underwater application and seven days of curing at 75°F. Testing was performed at MPI Laboratories in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, using ASTM D1002.

“Substrate failure” indicates that the material being bonded failed during testing; the TDS does not report a numerical bond-strength value for those tests. The listed strength results were measured after seven days and should not be presented as one-hour or 24-hour strength ratings.
Applications
SeaSnake is intended for wet-surface and underwater bonding involving metals, plastics, rubber, and wood. Its non-sag formulation also supports work on surfaces where adhesive must be applied vertically or overhead. The manufacturer’s application instructions describe working the adhesive onto areas requiring bonding or sealing.
The published testing specifically includes cold-rolled steel, PMMA/polycarbonate, rigid PVC, hardwood, and concrete. These results describe the tested materials and conditions rather than establishing compatibility with every material within those categories.
Basic Application Instructions
Open the sealed cartridge, trim the provided application tip to the desired bead size, and screw the tip onto the cartridge. Wipe the bonding surface clean to remove loose dirt and debris. When additional surface cleaning is needed, the TDS notes that a wire brush or steel wool may improve adhesion; wipe away remaining debris afterward.
Apply a generous bead to the bonding surface. Using a spatula or putty knife, work the adhesive across the surface with a shearing motion to wet the area requiring bonding or sealing. Observe the published underwater working, firm-set, and full-cure times.
Safe handling: Read the SDS before use. Use adequate ventilation, wear chemical-resistant gloves and appropriate eye protection, and avoid skin contact and inhalation of vapors or mist. The SDS identifies skin, eye, and respiratory hazards, including sensitization.
