3M DP-420 Black is a toughened two-part epoxy Structural Adhesive offering outstanding shear and peel adhesion and very high levels of durability. The structural adhesive that provides good strength along with high impact and vibration resistance to meet demanding bonding challenges.
3M ScotchWeld Epoxy Adhesive DP420 can replace mechanical fasteners, screws, rivets and spot welds in many applications. The Epoxy Adhesive 420 maintains bond strength at high and low temperatures and can withstand paint bake operations up to 400°F for 30 minutes. It is optimized for Carbon Fiber (CFRP) and works well on a variety of substrates such as metals, ceramics, wood, many plastics and glass and is an excellent indoor bonding agent for joining, gluing, potting, panel bonding and structural bonding.
Substitutes and Alternates:
- Maven Epoxy EAF420
- Araldite 2019
- Araldite 2031-1
The ScotchWeld; Epoxy Adhesive 420 dispenses as a medium viscosity adhesive for easy, controlled application. The adhesive reaches handling strength in approximately two hours and is fully cured in 24 hours (at 72°F/22°C).
Product Name
3M ScotchWeld DP420 Black 20-Minute Toughened Epoxy Adhesive
Brief Description
3M Scotch-Weld DP420 Black is a toughened, two-part epoxy structural adhesive engineered to deliver high strength, exceptional impact, and fatigue resistance for demanding bonding challenges. It is designed to replace mechanical fasteners, screws, rivets, and spot welds in numerous applications.
Popular Applications & Uses
- Small joint assembly- Heavy-duty mounting assembly- Metalworking and carbon fiber epoxy bonding- General joining, gluing, attaching, assembling, combining, and repairing- Panel bonding and structural bonding- Potting applications- As an alternative to riveting, welding, bolt setting, and frame building- Bonding electrical connectors
