Collection: Cold-Temperature & Cold-Weather Setting Adhesives

What Cold Weather Does to Your Adhesive

Temperature is the most significant variable affecting performance of adhesives, especially two-part formulas. Curing is a chemical reaction, and its rate is directly tied to heat energy.

  • Slower Cure Time: As the temperature decreases, the reaction slows down dramatically. What might take minutes at room temperature can take hours or even days in the cold.
  • Reduced Initial Strength: Low temps mean the adhesive won't reach its "handling strength" or "full cure" as quickly. If parts are moved/stressed too soon, the bond will fail
