Cheat Sheet on using Super Glues & Instant Adhesives (aka Cyanoacrylate adhesives)

  1. Match the right formula with your surfaces / bonding (Flip this sheet over for a useful selector guide)
  2. Add a Primer if you are bonding low energy plastics like Olefins, LDPE or Rubbers
  3. Add an Accelerator if you need instant / ultra-fast set times
  4. Or use an Accelerant & Strengthening powder to further strengthen and quicken the bond (typically Baking Soda-based).
  5. Add a dispensing tip to the bottle if need more (See Below for a 101 on Dispensing Tips)
  6. Cover your hands, nose, mouth and surrounding areas, as Super Glues can ruin things
  7. Clean and sand the surface if possible, you’ll get a better bond
  8. Use as small amount of glue as possible, it’s quite
  9. Hold or clamp bonded surfaces for about 30 seconds, then let it continue to dry for a few more
  10. Release any clamps and inspect for desired bond strength

Important Notes:

  • Protect your hands and body, Super Glues can severely damage
  • We recommend gloves and mask if
  • Keep Water away from Super Glue and your uncured gluing (liquid water will ruin your bond)
