Product Description

Premera T1 (aka IONYX T1) for Wood & Stone is a 2-part impervious, UV Resistant, Scratch Resistant, Moisture Resistant, Mold Resistant, Acid Resistant, Food Resistant hardened coating system. This high-performance quartz coating protects stone from etching by providing a superior, long lasting Silicon Dioxide (SIO2) barrier against mold, mildew, moisture intrusion, stains, Mold, liquid and food acids.

It is Ideal for use on calcium based stones (e.g. marble, limestone, travertine, Onyx), man-made cement-based conglomerates, wood furniture and cabinetry. This product is ideal for use on bars, tables, decorative moldings, bright work on boats, rails and pre-finished wooden floor planks (prior to installation).

NOTE: Vinegars will etch coating if not cleaned up within 1 hour.T1 functions as a clear coat over wood surfaces finished with urethane, varnish or polyurethane.

CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Color: Clear to slight amber to rose (depending on temp and humidity) always dries clear.
  • Finish: Gloss or Satin Vehicle
  • Type: Solvent Base Flash
  • Point: (C Penskey Martens closed Cup) -9C/15F
  • VOC: less than 100 g/Weight per

Solution For:

Scratching/abrasion, acid etching and water spots from food and beverage spills, salt air and sea water, UV damage, graffiti, bird & animal waste damage, and moisture.

SURFACE:

  • wood
  • Marble
  • Limestone
  • Travertine
  • Onyx Natural stone
  • Man-made cement conglomerates.

Recommended Spread Rate per coat:

  • Wet mils: 4.0-5.0 Dry
  • Mils: 4.0-5.0Over Varnish, and Urethanes Wet
  • Mils: 3.0-4.0
  • Dry mils: 1.8-2.5
  • Limestone & Travertine require 2 coats wet on tack

CARE & MAINTENANCE:

After full cure, coating provides a barrier against moisture intrusion, acid etching from food and beverage spills, and staining for up to 8 hours. Longer exposure to spills can eventually damage the surface. Vinegars must be cleaned off surface within one hour to ensure continued protection. Always wipe up spills and standing water as soon as possible. Do not use abrasive cleansers or abrasive scouring pads. No need for wax or polish. Paint can be removed from coating using acetone without damaging the coating.

Instructions:

Below are instructions for both Stone and Wood please read carefully if you are new or beginner

SURFACE PREPARATION:

STONE: Surface must be clean, dry, and in sound condition. Remove oil, dust, grease, dirt, and other foreign material. Rinse with water and let dry. Silicone sealers MUST be removed. T1 will not adhere to silicone. To determine if surface is sealed or coated, sprinkle water onto the surface. If water is absorbed and the surface becomes darker it has not been sealed. If water beads up, sealer exist that must be removed to allow adhesion of T1 to substrate. Surface textures, stone colors and environments vary. Recommended: test T1 in an inconspicuous location to ensure desired appearance and adhesion are achieved. There will be a slight enhancement or change in appearance from the natural stone. Use the Satin or Matte version of T1 to maintain honed look. On white exterior surfaces, T1 may yellow very slightly over time. It may also enhance beige limestone or travertine.

WOOD: Surface must be sealed stained or finished with urethane, varnish or polyurethane, and in clean, dry, sound condition. On newly finished surfaces, lightly sand with 220 grit sandpaper or #000 steel wool; remove dust with tack cloth. On older surfaces, remove oil, dust, grease, dirt and foreignmaterial, lightly sand, repair and refinish worn or damaged areas. Let cure, lightly sand with 220 grit sandpaper or #000 steel wool; remove dust with tack cloth. Test T1 on a finished sample to ensure desired appearance and adhesion are achieved. There will be a slight enhancement of appearance.

APPLICATION:

Nukote Premera T1 is a 2-component system consisting of T1 for Wood & Stone and Catalyst. Stir each container well to re-suspend nanoparticles, as there will be settlement of nanoparticles in the bottom of the container; typically ¼”. In a separate container, mix T1 and Catalyst together in a 1:1 ratio. Re-stir contents at least every 10 to 15 minutes during the application process to re-suspend nanoparticles and ensure proper performance of the coating. Ensure ambient temperature is between 45° F and 105° F, relative humidity 90% or less and that there is no chance of precipitation (including morning dew) for a minimum of 5 hours after estimated time of completion of the coating process. Surface must not be dampened before it has dried at least 5 hours.

Stone & wood spray application: spraying is recommended. Mask off adjacent surfaces and items prevent accidental drips or coating. Use a high volume low pressure sprayer (hvlp) with a 1.4 spray tip, air pressure set at 25 to 30 psi. Spray test pattern on cardboard or paper to ensure a suitable 8“to 10” elongated spray pattern is achieved (approximately 1 ½” wide in the middle and fluid enough to cover but not puddle). Once suitable spray pattern is achieved, apply two thin coats, wet-on-tack, 3-4 wft each, top to bottom, then right to left, keeping a wet edge. Second coat must be applied within 10-15 minutes while first coat is still tacky (approx. 10 15 minutes).do not allow the first coat to dry for morethan 15 minutes or second coat will not adhere and will peel off.

After completion of coating. Do not use treated surface for three full days after t1 has been applied. Prevent liquids and objects from contact with surface.surface suited to light use only, with no contact with liquids during days 4 through 7 after treatment. Blowing wind will affect the quality of the finish, may disrupt the spray pattern from the hvlp sprayer and can contribute to pollution of the finish. Recommended: erect a windscreen to protect the area prior to beginning the coating application.

CAUTION: If using spray application method in an enclosed space, tent off spray area using plastic tarps to prevent spray.
